Miami Beach Bowl set for Dec. 21 kickoff at 2:30 p.m. ET on ESPN b/w AAC & C-USA

Monday afternoon prior to Christmas.....again. I thought we might have earned an upgrade as the bowl out performed several other bowls last year despite it's DOA timeslot.

Perfect time. Hit the beach and club after.

This is fine Attackcoog... Would you rather be on ESPN3 CBSS FS1?!? Not me.

just have a fight at the end and it gets the coverage you need.

If UH gets the Beach Bowl, I'm definitely watching....would be awesome to see if the two Coog teams have a brawl, BYU couldn't handle a Tiger, so that would be a fun watch our Coogs whip on that a**!!

Well its interesting some fans think that bowl did so well last year with 1.32M views. AAC co champs vs the all mighty(TV viewers) BYU. The previous year CUSA(ECU) vs MAC(Ohio) drew 1.27 in the bowl in the same time slot the Monday before Christmas. Neither being champs of their conference or having the help of BYU only accounted 50k difference

But the bowl outperformed.......

when will those homers on this board call a turd a turd. Don't tell me a turd is a steak. The miami bowl tv ratings were bad despite having the mighty independent BYU as a partipant.

Actually the numbers were solid for that day and time. I'm sure the bowl would get better ratings if it were played at night.

Geez, I thought the Miami Beach Bowl was something special. Heck, the 2014 New Orleans Bowl featuring the Cajuns vs Nevada and played at something like 6 AM had a 1.6 rating and 2.2 million viewers on ESPN.

Yes. A brand new bowl in the worst bowl time slot of the year outperformed an existing bowl with a superior time slot---and was in the ball park with several others. It also out performed the established bowl in the exact same same time slot last year. A year ago the Heart of Dallas Bowl posted a .2 rating on New Years Day. A new bowl being played at 2pm on a work day could have suffered a similar fate. I think it's .9 was actually not bad considering the situation. It was a close fun game that ended in overtime. If that bowl had been played in a decent 7pm time slot, it very well may have been one of the highest rated G5 bowls of the season.

Our game lost out to Toledo/Arky State? Sheesh.

I don't have a problem with the time slot. And since we own the bowl, why does anybody think ESPN is going to cut us a break, especially since they own almost all the other bowls?

To me, the important things are to have a bowl slot for all our teams, and to have it in a nice location.
