I like the bowl for the league, but when a fan was trying to say the tv ratings were good, when they were actually bad: that's being dishonest or a total homer that can't see reality. I know the ratings were bad for very valid reasons but they were bad. BYU v Memphis in lass year bowl was shockingly lower than expected. No one would have thought it would be the 2nd to lowest rated game. No one. Cheers my friend!

As the great TV Philosopher George Costanza once said:

"Its not a lie if you believe."

The facts are ESPN and AAC were very pleased with the 1.3 Million viewers they drew for this brand new bowl played at 2 pm EST (11 AM PST) on the Monday before Christmas.

Now you can continue to troll and bash something that was a positive for all involved but that would only show your true colors.

Cheers.

The previous year CUSA(ECU) vs MAC(Ohio) drew 1.27 in the bowl in the same time slot the Monday before Christmas. Neither being champs of their conference or having the help of BYU only accounted 50k difference

But the bowl outperformed.......

Yes. A brand new bowl in the worst bowl time slot of the year outperformed an existing bowl with a superior time slot---and was in the ball park with several others. It also out performed the established bowl in the exact same same time slot last year. A year ago the Heart of Dallas Bowl posted a .2 rating on New Years Day. A new bowl being played at 2pm on a work day could have suffered a similar fate. I think it's .9 was actually not bad considering the situation. It was a close fun game that ended in overtime. If that bowl had been played in a decent 7pm time slot, it very well may have been one of the highest rated G5 bowls of the season.

It didn't end there. There were extra curricular activities after

AAC (and ESPN) were thrilled with the audience they drew from Year 1 of this bowl.

Its funny to see all the trolls complaining about this brand new bowl that still attracted 1.3 Million viewers.

So sad.

yep, I'm a troll if I don't agree with you. Sorry, the Miami beach bowl had Phenomenonal ratings. Its quite stunning how high the ratings were for a 1st year bowl! I hope ECU puts 70 on UCF this year. Go ECU! I want the AAC teams that ECU plays to win all their OOC games so the W's ECU has will be more respected when it comes down to Boise and ECU as the final two considerations for the committee in December!

Agreed, very funny that a few Big East fans are so concerned about the AAC that they need to live on this board posting non-stop negative nonsense.

The anti-Aresco BS is really jumping the shark. The AAC champ beats BYU and makes a great splash in our new bowl. They go nuts. A little thread about how we are planning to renegotiate our TV deal sends these guys into orbit. LOL Tells me he's doing a fantastic job.

Miami Beach Bowl set for Dec. 21 kickoff at 2:30 p.m. ET on ESPN b/w AAC & C-USA

Monday afternoon prior to Christmas.....again. I thought we might have earned an upgrade as the bowl out performed several other bowls last year despite it's DOA timeslot.

Na, just one bowl game. Unless you mean outperformed by replays of the fight.

1.11M So. Alabama/Bowling Gree
1.32M BYU/Memphis Miami Beach Bowl
1.37M Toledo/Arkansas State
1.45MWestern Michigan/Air Force
1.50M Cent. Michigan/W. Kentucky Bahamas Bowl
1.91M Fresno State/Rice

Our game lost out to Toledo/Arky State? Sheesh.
They had prime time on a Sunday night

He knows that, Bleeds_Purple... He's trolling is on cruise control.
