Things just don't pop once football season is over, or until there is realignment news. John01192 whined and killed the Draft last year. I thought it was time to give it a rest. Search the internet and you won't find an active SEC board anywhere other than a school site. SEC Rant is a romper room much like the ESPN posters that came in over here, so no thanks for that site for me. The two boards I consider joining to discuss are the Virginia Tech site because those yahoos are so off base in many of their assumptions about both the SEC and Big 10, and Landthieves where there does seem to be a little more intelligence to the posting. Shaggy wouldn't be bad except that it is extremely Texas centered and some of their oldest posters are resistant to outside thoughts. I think when there is news this is still one of the better places to discuss realignment. At least here some folks get it that there is real business going on behind the moves and they are just rah rah conference decisions.

I know you watch Landthieves and I know you watch me there. You know how hard it has been for me to keep myself in line there in order to make it the place that it is today. I have even gone so far as to insert into their brains that our forum is THE main realignment forum on the internet by inviting the most intelligent and rational to come visit.

I read Shaggy sometimes but I don't bother posting there. I am not insane enough to try and sell all of those people on the idea that they will relatively soon be part of The ACC.

I have noticed that Landthieves has more legitimate discussion about realignment now rather than being dominated about 6 posters so set in their opinions that they actually stifled conversation instead of facilitated it. So yeah you have them thinking a little more outside of the box. The biggest problem here are the number of ACC posters who vehemently deny everything and spin numbers into insane fictions and then congratulate each other on how right they are in their delusions. It's more than annoying. Lately the cheerleading threads started on the main board have been ticking me off. As a mod I see them as a kind of spam. Between those and G5 inclusion threads there isn't much there to read right now. But I let that stuff go because they enjoy it and right now it gets posts and hits no matter who absurd it is.

Nope, I barely ever post on the main forum at this point. I'm waiting for the next big thing.

As far as annoying ACC posters here? The Notre Dame crew over on Landthieves is just about as bad. The moment I have one of them starting to post rationally, their Fighting Irish Brainwashing Program kicks in and they start foaming at the mouth while repeating the word BUG over and over again.

Yeah that guy is juvenile. Some of their better posters aren't regulars. At least Hamilton has been laying a bit lower lately. Camel at Sea is the Big 12 cheerleader there, just as we have two Big 12 cheerleaders here, sometimes 3 if you count TodgeRodge.

Camel actually said today, or yesterday, that the 20 team Big Ten scenario with Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri all joining the Big Ten to go along with Nebraska in a five team division of their own...well he seemed to like that a lot.

I have broken them all down to their base fear. Their fear is loss of recruiting in Texas. Many of them are now realizing how silly that is as I continue to repeat to them that two and a half hours drive time from Dallas insures that an Elite Oklahoma football program will always be able to recruit strongly in Texas. The Red River Rivalry also insures that.

The rational viewpoing of an Oklahoma fan, as I see it, is to generally wish for membership in the SEC but to realize that The University of Oklahoma will look more favorably upon membership with The Big Ten. Thus the rational fan prepares themselves for that possibility.

It seems to be catching on.

Well you know our differences here. I think the Oklahoma fear is real and the sampling of those on their message board is too small to gauge how palpable that fear will remain. I still say Oklahoma could go any number of ways. But clearly their best two options would be the SEC or Big 10.

Of course OU would need to gain AAU status to be a B1G candidate given the precedent.

In spite of what Sooner's claim they are nowhere near AAU status. They have good academics, but they are behind too many others with better credentials for too few possible slots.

You clearly don't realize that Nebraska is not an AAU Institution anymore, so you are clearly wrong. Propaganda is propaganda, nothing more.

RE: B1G Surprise? CSU?
Have you guys tried Baylorfans chat board? There are a good mix of B12 fans along with others. The realignment talk over there was intelligent & informative, I would say a close second to here. I haven't been there in awhile so I'm not sure how active the realignment board is now. Like here the conversation was fair & respectful normally. I liked a lot better than the ones you two mentioned.
