Marshall Fans... Information on a QB transfer
I see where South Alabama picked up a QB transfer from you guys, Cole Garvin. He redshirted this year (his freshmen year). I know information might be limited on a freshmen who redshirted, but anyone have any insight on him? He will sit out this year and have 3 years left to play.

Don't know much about him. He seems to be a good QB but he wasn't going to start at Marshall. Chase Litton is a year behind him and would have been picked over him next year. He might have a little attitude problem because of some of his twitter comments. Should be a good get for you guys. How is the QB situation for USA?

We have Cody Clements and Matt Floyd who will be seniors this year. We also have Dallas Davis (sophomore) and Hunter Vaughn (junior). Right now if I had to rank the QBs I would say it's Clements, Vaughn/Davis then Floyd. Him coming in and sitting out and having 3 years to play will be good for him since the job is likely Clement's this season; he will be able to compete for the position in 2016.

A little undersized but has a decent arm. It was pretty clear though in the spring that he was behind Birdsong, Litton and Holcombe. A little surprised he stayed at the D-1 level considering he has to sit out a year after coming off a red-shirt. Hope the kid does well.

I got the feeling that he thought he didn't have to compete to get the job. As he slid down the depth chart he did a lot of sulking on the sidelines this spring. He was what he was, the 4th best QB on our roster.

I got nothing against him, hope he tears it up for you guys, but he obviously needed a change of scenery.

Ditto.

Whole spring game he stood by himself with his arms crossed.

I wish him nothing, but the the best though. He's only a kid, and sometimes a change of scenery can re-ignite a passion for someone.

From what I hear he wanted to move back further south. Like you guys said, hopefully a change of scenery can do him good.
