He summed it up pretty well. We knew early on that he had no intentions of reinstating these teams, and that he had to be backed into doing the right thing.

Basically, I felt like this was the prime reason that major donors have been holding off. You absolutely have to wait for a hard number. You announce anything prematurely then not only do the goal posts shift that much more, you have to go back same people/businesses that signed on and ask for even more.

That figure is going to come out one way or another, and, if it doesn't come from the administration, then it's just another gaff on top of mountain of them by now.

AL.com comments aren't worth the effort to read, but that is reflective of an opinion I've seen and heard a lot. That is one thing that worked for the administration, and, despite tangible proof, it is a talking point people definitely believe.

Obvious things aside, one of the sadder aspects to all of this is how the rabid Alabama fans jumped on this and ran with it. We all know things aren't how they're supposed to be in the system, but we're supposed to be sister schools yet I've never seen this level of vitriol for even the most hated of rivals.

Yeah they are, even when facts are against their arguments.
