RE: Bowl games for 2015?
Lindy's says we have Boca and Austin this year in addition to what you have listed.
  • NY6 Bowl - Peach - Cincinnati
  • Birmingham Bowl - Memphis vs. SEC (Tenn?)
  • St. Petersburg Bowl USF vs. C-USA - (No idea)
  • Miami Beach Bowl UCF vs. C-USA - (Marshall?)
  • Military Bowl Navy vs. ACC - (VTech?)
  • Hawaii Bowl Houston vs. MWC - (BYU has an agreement for this year I think)
  • Boca Raton Bowl vs. MAC - Don't fill - Sell to C-USA or SBC
  • Cure Bowl Temple vs. SBC - (Georgia Southern)
  • Austin Bowl vs. SBC - Don't Fill - Sell to MAC

Edit: Added my predictions for who goes where.

Truth be told, if this passes, that's a very positive lineup with many winnable games. Cinci getting the BY6 bid is the kicker though.

The Austin Bowl has been postponed until 2016 I think. With Boca that gives us seven bowls this year. Who has the Armed Forces this year then?

According to the Armed Forces Home Page it's B1g vs. MWC.

yes,I noticed that too. The bowl line up this year looks a bit better for the MWC than the AAC, but I guess the access bowl participant will be the one slot that truly tips the scales.

We have Boca, for a total of 7, and there is always the access bowl.

RE: Bowl games for 2015?
Potential Access Bowl (Fiesta, Cotton, or Peach)
Birmingham Bowl vs SEC
Military Bowl vs. ACC
Hawaii Bowl vs. BYU or MWC
Miami Beach Bowl vs. CUSA
St Pete Bowl vs. CUSA
Boca Raton Bowl vs. MAC
Cure Bowl vs. Sun Belt

The Boca Bowl and Cure Bowl will be the last to be filled. The first 5 are a bowl pool and have to be filled first per the AAC website.

Every other year, we have a guarantee of at least 4 bowls with a "P5" opponent. This year is not one of them.

I would like to see Aresco trade off Boca or Cure for a better opponent in Miami Beach (ACC will probably have an extra team available).

It would be nice to see the exact contract details of the Miami Beach Bowl. Supposedly, there is a clause that if a "P5" team comes available, then MBB can select them. The statement when the bowl was signed said that "P5" conference could also be chosen.

BYU has a deal with the Las Vegas and Hawaii bowls to be selected for one in 2015 and the other in 2019. My hunch is that BYU goes to the Las Vegas Bowl this year if they get at least 8 wins - could be a BYU v. Utah matchup. Boise St. will go to the Armed Forces Bowl if they don't get the NY6.

You don't think East Carolina will make a bowl game? 01-wingedeagle Pirates will win between 8 and 9 games this year. If we get a couple of upsets 10 is possible.

You honestly think ECU is getting a 10 win season immediately after losing everything you did?

I think either ECU or temple gets a bowl bid, but not both.

The Boca Raton Bowl is Tuesday December 22nd @7PM EST on ESPN.
This ia a start time one hour later and one day earlier than the Marshall vs NIU game in 2014.

Your open disdain for ECU really clouds your judgement. No we're not winning 10 games but were definitely making a bowl.

I think Kruciff was referencing the 8-9 wins comment with a chance to get 10 with an upset. I don't see any of those things happening either. 6-7 wins is more likely but yes with a bowl berth more than likely. I do think SMU, USF and Tulsa are going to be very improved though so any slip ups and your bowl berth could be in jeopardy.

Everyone always underestimates the Pirates in every sport every season. Once again we will prove y'all wrong. We lost Justin Hardy and Shane Carden. However we return out OL, our all-conference Linebackers, most of D, proven WRs and RBs. It only depends on how well Kurt Benkert does and I think he is a better QB then Shane and has more zip on his throws. We will win at least 8 games.

There is no way we are winning 10 games this year with the amount of talent we lost plus the loss of Lincoln Riley and the tough schedule we play. I do indeed think we make a bowl though

I think SMU and probably Tulsa are going to be a year or two away from getting back to a bowl. South Florida has some talent for sure and if Willie doesn't want to lose his job he better get them to a bowl this year.

My prediction
Cincinnati Access bowl
UCF Miami Bowl
Houston Hawaii bowl
Memphis Birmingham bowl
Navy Military bowl
Temple St. Petersburg bowl
East Carolina Cure bowl
We dont fill Boca because of Cincinnati getting the access bowl.
