Can we just sell half of these bowls, and just pray for the Liberty?

That trophy is so pretty...

If I'm not mistaken we have a contract with the Poinsettia bowl this year to fill that spot if Army doesn't win six games. I read that somewhere can anyone confirm this or am I mistaken?

I found this which says we have a backup agreement with the Poinsettia bowl but gives no details http://theamerican.org/news/2013/12/5/FB...34743.aspx

It only depends on how well Kurt Benkert does and I think he is a better QB then Shane and has more zip on his throws. We will win at least 8 games.

When was the last time the Pirates exceeded expectations?

You guys were the favorites to win the conference last year, didn't happen.
You guys were favorites to run through a watered down C-USA the year before, didn't happen.
Y'all were the best thing since sliced bread, and were going to send UCF to the Big East with a loss in 2012, but that didn't happen.

If anything, ECU is regularly overestimated.

You guys got 8 wins last year, with Carden, your top 2 WR's and your top RB, contributing to a record setting offense, all of whom are gone now.

I can easily see ECU going 4-8 on the year. I think 6-6 is the ceiling.

It seems to be a backup just like the Liberty Bowl. I hope we nab at least one of those, cause that would make the bowl lineup OUTSTANDING.

While some of your points are true we tend to overachieve when there isn't much expected of us and underachieve when there is high expectations. For example last year going 8-5 was huge disappointment with the high expectations we had. But back in 2012 a lot of people thought that it would be Ruff's last year and were predicting 4 or 5 wins and we won 8 games with a brand-new starting quarterback. The 2013 season went about as expected we won 10 games had a couple of nice non conference wins and won our bowl game. We just shat the bed at Marshall on a short week at Thanksgiving five days after beating our rival North Carolina State on the road.

We are a backup to the Poinsettia if they can't fill slots.

I know you never wanted ECU in the AAC but ECU has a much better tradition than your school in football...peach bowl win before your first game. I agree with my fellow Pirate on this, your disdain for ECU is not hidden at all....and that's ok if you just embrace it! BTW, ECU will go bowling this year and possibly play in the AAC championship game.

I wish our conference champ at least got a guaranteed spot in a NY6 bowl...heck I'd be happy with the Peach or some such. Heck, I'd take the Liberty Bowl (now on Jan2). Our bowls suck beyond suck.
