They also don't count our 5* transfer from Duke who several players have said will be our best player in years. Yes I know transfers don't count

I expect the AAC to go into 'beast mode' next season in hoops...quality talent and coaching.

We're still waiting on one, which would jump us over SMU, and 39th overall.

RE: 2015 AAC Basketball Recruiting Rankings
We really swung hard and missed this spring, as we have 2 open schollys due to Jamaree Strickland and Deshaun Morman leaving the program. Although myself and most of our fans are reasonably happy with the 3 recruits we have coming in, there is starting to be some restlessness within the fan base regarding our underwhelming recruiting. That said, I think Jacob Evans is a 3-year starter and future all conference player. Justin Jenifer looks like he will take over the point when Troy Caupain graduates in 2 years and might be the best passer we've had in a while. And Tre Scott is a sleeper, but not a project -- excited to see him on campus as well.

Regarding the overall rankings for the conference, they are very respectable. There are currently 65 teams in the P5, plus you've got 10 Big East teams that are considered power conference in basketball. Using that math, 10 out of 11 of our programs recruited at a power conference level this year.

So disappointed in Tulsa's recruiting as of late. It's like we're not even trying to build on our recent success.

The good thing about that list is how the new lower ranked teams did. No reason this league cant be tough. Tulsa was at 142 with 2.

RE: 2015 AAC Basketball Recruiting Rankings
Kevin Ollie has brought in a ton of talent in the last several months.

I would not put too much emphasis on these rankings here either. They don't really tell the whole story.

Anyway, UConn has brought in:

Jalen Adams (23rd overall), 5 star
Steven Enoch (45th overall), 4 star
Shonn Miller (transfer)
Sterling Gibbs (transfer)

Adams is looking like an underregarded gem. The McDs game missed the boat on the kid. He is looking like a top talent.

Miller and Gibbs are going to step right into UConn's starting lineup.

For 2016, UConn grabbed Mamadou Diarra. He is a big man who shows a lot of explosion going to the rim. Underrated by 247. They have a lot of kids ahead of him who are nowhere near as good. Some of these kids are 50-100 slots higher and wanted to come to UConn but the staff prioritized Diarra ahead of them.

UConn is also heavy on the top PG Alterique Gilbert, one of the top SFs in VJ King (official visit to UConn this weekend, his #2, but he's a heavy Louisville lean w/ connections there), and UConn is also looking to have Hamidou Diallo come out in this his senior year (2016) instead of prepping for an extra year (listed as a 2017).

Former VCU frosh top 40 player is transferring and choosing between UConn and Maryland right now.

I'm sorry, but no one can consider a 5-star player "underregarded".

UConn doesn't only recruit for their school - they recruit from their conference mates as well.

Tulane and UCF used to NEVER get players of this caliber - but they sure do now. A lot of underrated 3*/low 4* players want to take a few shots at teams like UConn - and this is their window to do it.

I don't think that they rank transfers or JUCOs.

There are different levels.

The McDs and Jordan kids are considered above.

All I'm saying is that this kid is better than the McDs guards chosen ahead of him. He is not as highly regarded.

RE: 2015 AAC Basketball Recruiting Rankings
They rank JUCO's, at least the good ones. Foster is ranked the 57th JUCO on the composite. Williams wasn't though. 57 is probably a little low for a 14.5ppg 4.5apg PG on the #1 team though. The only other guy with those number on his team averaged 15ppg and is going to Kentucky. The rest seem fair enough.

It doesn't really matter though. We get basically from top 70-110 classes every year on this if you surf back the last decade. Time to see consistent top 100 results.

In other news UNC has the 52nd ranked class with two boarderline 100-150 guys and they haven't even been put on probation yet 07-coffee3

A 5* top 25 recruit isn't 'underregarded'. 'Underregarded' is Dionte Christmas not being evaluated (0*) by Rivals despite offers from Temple, Pitt, Providence, Nova, USC and UTEP.

Holy cow people. Come on, stop it.

If Malik Newman was ranked 25th, he'd be underregarded.

In other words, I think Adams is much better than Isaiah Briscoe or Jalen Brunson. The McDs guards.
