Sod being ripped up at the practice field.
Someone post some pics and blow it up on social media.

BTW goal posts were torn down right after Watts knifed Clark.

Bakken says parts of the turf are being replaced. Routine maintenance.

I wonder how routine it is given the drainage problems and injury issues, which suggest to me that no maintenance is ever done on the field, but resodding sounds plausible given the beating that field takes.

Too bad they didn't fix it while we had a team.

I am the one who reported it on Twitter. I was on the bus so I couldn't get a picture through the nice new fence that they just put up which was a waste of money if they had intended on killing the program.

They were also cutting the grass outside the practice field and edging along the sidewalks. I give them the benefit of the doubt and it probably is routine, because a dirt field doesn't make sense even if Watts isn't bringing football back.

I'm confused. Is this the repair that was shot down during Mackin's tenure or was that more of a turf football specific field?

New artificial turf was shot down. Putting down new grass is probably normal and substantially cheaper than artificial turf.

Unless he's going to build a sweet locker room and fieldhouse for the new cross country team!

Seriously. I'm told some intramural stuff happens on this field as well, so they will need grass for that. Bakken made it sound like they replace the sod every year.

I have no direct knowledge of today's going on but from my years with facilities a very normal yearly procedure to strip and re-sod and even the timing would be normal beginning of low usage period summer school for all the turf and the beginning of a high growth period.

Sorry to ruin your paranoia fun
