I have no doubt that Hire, Craft, and Filler have planned for something like this and still have several arrows in their quiver.
I'll tell you another thing - if the programs are not brought back, my pledge money and the pledges of everyone else who I can persuade will go to establish and fund an investigative PAC. We'll hire a couple of investigators, a couple of reporters, and a couple of lawyers, and they will do public records requests of everything the BoT did, their contracts, any business relationships between them, and will turn over every rock to find the slimy deals they've done.
By the time we're through with them they're going to look forward to a trip to the proctologist as feel good vacation.

I think that ship has sailed. He's retired, officially, kinda. He could potentially get in trouble for things he did while he was a trustee - though I profess complete ignorance on how his misbehavior relates to anything "the feds" could police - but that won't help us as we, in Watts' words, "move forward," edit: in terms of getting football back specifically.
Right?

+1 Good for you Band Dad. the other guys may help especially Craft
Unfortunately you appear to have been also been right about Filler who so far has so far only shot rubber arrows at best. It may not be his fault but promised in his name were 1) a incorporated tax exempt FF with a real moneyed folks as BOD that could actually be responsible for a loan for Football building. 2 a fifteen million dollar letter of credit for needed facilities (AB appeared to talk to him directly on this). 3) Real binding pledge of 5 million if football comes back. and not as clear if Filler was source but various sums of cash from 900.000 to fifteen million.
So far he has reveled to the public - no cash - no letter of credit - no loan group and zero plans for immediate facilities - not a binding pledge for even a dollar. Just after six months of apparently doing nothing the same vague non binding promise of count on me and my unnamed friends that can in the future raise 5 million and IF you get around to OCS we will then pledge 7.5 million. But nothing for immediate facilities needs.

This count me in. I'll contribute my pledge as well.

Let them. That would make for a good election issue. Spending tax payer money on covering up a unpopular decision. Makes it very easy for us to make a case the BOT is corrupt and needs reform.

That would make a good radio commercial. "Right now Alabama is running out of money and the Legislature is cutting budgets and scrambling to find new tax revenue. The University of Alabama Board of Trustees and President Ray Watts are spending millions of your tax dollars defending their controversial decision to disband football at UAB. So far they have spent 11 million dollars and rising of your tax dollars to cover up their mismanagement and sabotage of the state's largest employer, UAB.

That could be in the next commercial. Could someone provide a list of those expenses with associated costs.

That's it. Let's turn the tables use their arguments against them. Make them explain how millions of tax payer dollars to cover up a controversial decision and pricey PR firms to shine their images is a good investment by the tax payers.
