what is there to debate

PAC 12 has been about $1 million (excluding the cost to buy back 3rd tier rights)

Big 10 does not exactly have 3rd tier they have the BTN that is second and 3rd tier and was about 7.6 million last time

ACC has none

SEC had some with Florida being the highest in the past, but there is no telling what the REAL SECn numbers will be until they come out

Big 12 is from 3 to 11.5 million per year

Big 12 numbers are still dicey. You still can't pull out just the tv portion. The closest I've found includes radio and internet.

Broadcast, Television, Radio and Internet Rights

1. Kansas: $6,855,577

2. Oklahoma: $5,227,250

3. Oklahoma State: $4,795,000

4. Kansas State: $3,870,500

5. Iowa State: $3,691,350

6. West Virginia: $900,723

7. Texas: $26,422

8. Texas Tech: $0

Usually they like to include things like signage, concessions, etc like everybody else gets.

Something isn't right there. After auditing twice, WVU's athletic department showed a profit of $1,008,568 for 2014, which is $2.4 million more than you're showing.

It makes me wonder what other figures aren't correct in your post.

I didn't write the article. I provided a link. It seems a little bit "less defensive" than the article you posted.

From the Gazette article you posted, their numbers are on point with the article I posted

"Just based on revenue generated by — and expenses incurred by — specific sports, West Virginia’s football program made just under $1 million. Men’s basketball lost almost $3.3 million." -

Once again I'll post the link, they seem like they did a thorough job and not motivated by trying to make west Virginia look bad.

Based on the much lower conference/NCAA distributions, I'm guessing WVU is still in a phase in to full conference revenues.

It's 85% this season. Next season starts the full payout.

And right on cue on the Big 12 discussion board on west Virginia's scout site, it's being discussed because the SEC announced their conference revenue disbursements today.
