Doc Sadler isn't a terrible coach. I remember his 2 squads at UTEP and they were good...his first 3 years at Nebraska seemed to go well...I stopped following after that, but you guys could do worse...hopefully he starts to turn it around this season.

I am an tired old man that has followed USM for over 50 years, and there are many young energetic men and women out there with great ideas that want a job. Instead, we hire washed up basketball and football coaches, and think that 4 straight years of not making a baseball regional is progress. What is depressing to me is fans with excuses as above. I appreciate your thinking that I must be the only one that has suggestions on how we can get better. However, I have been around long enought to know when something isn't working. Same ole reasons and excuses why we can't do something. If you boys want to even have sports programs in the near future, you better demand that we hire people to take us there.

I've yet to post a single "excuse", I've posted facts about the realities of how scheduling works in the real world. All you've posted is uniformed ramblings from some fantasy land where the only reason Duke and UK don't come to Hattiesburg is because our AD doesn't work hard enough to sign them.

Take that nonsense somewhere else. Our administration has enough to answer for without clowns like you making stuff up.

03-weeping

Go cry to someone who cares.

There is no argument here. Several people have posted factually based posts supporting their position and you've done nothing but cry and whine and post about small time thinkers and bad fans and offered no support for your position of any credible alternative to the current scheduling strategy.

Lol... Facts... Priceless. I know it is a fact that we are 4-32 in football the last three years, are about to go on major probation in basketball, have failed to get into baseball regionals for 4 consecutive years. Those are facts, all done with what you want done. It is a FACT that many others and myself want someone in the administration with balls and imagination. Now, if you want to remain mediocre, so be it.

Word. I'd trade 50 straight games at FedEx in exchange for getting that done.

Isn't this the Don Haskins Center?

Kidding, kidding. 03-wink

Our football record and lack of baseball postseason success have nothing to do with basketball scheduling, which is the topic of this entire thread. Try again.

Probation for basketball actually supports my position that the dismal state of out basketball program makes it impossible to land games with relevant teams anywhere but one off road games.

So not only are you still wrong, but now you're making my arguments for me. Good job.

I'm done with this silly debate since it's the weekend and I have considerably more entertaining things to do then continue this tripe.

We have Alabama coming to Hattiesburg this season.

Honestly, it shouldn't be THAT hard to get Memphis to come to Hattiesburg or Biloxi. As part of the exit agreement, Memphis can earn 1/2 tourney credit for up to two games per season for playing at CUSA schools or on neutral courts. Schedule USM/UAB and voila, charter planes are back in the budget (at least for the longer trips) courtesy of CUSA. Don't know what happened, but I heard from a donor it was in the works a couple of years ago. Loved taking my crew to the Yurt for those games.
