That being said, we need to be aware that nowadays it's easier for the media to latch onto specific instances of this idiocy/over-PCness/Racism/etc with the advent of Social Media. Anyone remember the hundreds of racist Tweets made during each election night that Obama was elected? Before, those idiots would be sitting in their homes talking to no one in particular, but now the News can point to these people like they matter. They don't. Just like the overly offended person whose triggers include opening soda cans or using the world 'melon'. They simply don't matter, and acting like they do gives the impression that they are having a much larger effect on society than they really are. That's why I ask for specific instances where PC'ness affected posters personally, in reality, it probably never has.

Both sides need to realize this, because we spend far too much time arguing over the actions of people that 80% of all Americans would agree are acting idiotically.

But it's not impossible. If everyone would just treat everyone else lik a person and not a political affiliation, perhaps things would be better.
