RE: About 100 days out.
Georgia State was actually a lot worse in 2014 than 2013. GSU getting better is a ruse, I promise.

Georgia State 2013
Scoring Offense: 22 ppg
Scoring Defense: 35 ppg
Margin: -12

Georgia State 2014
Scoring Offense: 23 ppg
Scoring Defense: 45 ppg
Margin: -22

Turnover Margin: -5
Turnover Margin: -14

Maybe just normal Sun Belt ™ week-to-week variability, but they looked way better against us in 2014 than they did in 2013.

Like they actually had the horses to compete this time around. If they clean up that TO margin, watch out.

Troy went 6-6 in 2013 with the SBC's best offense that year by a wide margin. The game that year was tied 28-28 with 3:30 left. We scored a TD at 3:17 that gave us the win. We could have easily lost.

In 2014, Troy went 3-9 in Larry Blakeney's worst season ever. We were up 45-14 on GSU in the 4th. Our team was bad last year. No energy, and vanilla playcalling (mostly runs, screens, and short passes).

It can be done. ULL went 3-9 in 2010 then turned around and had a 9 win season the very next year.

Troy isnt far off talent wise to pull a 8 win season off. Having said that I think we will finish around the 5-7 or 6-6 mark.

I think we are a little more down in talent than people actually realize. Anything over 6 wins would shock me tremendously.

I'm not a Troy fan because of wins and losses.

You also trudged along in our game and while the outcome was never in doubt, we didn't really run over you whereas our game with GSU came down to the wire, so-to-speak.

Just saying, they have talent now. I agree their coaching has not impressed me but theyre capable of "getting it together" as far as talent is concerned unless they lost a ton from 14->15.

RE: About 100 days out.
We played them (GA ST) at their place, last game of the year. While we beat them by a little over 3 TDs, I give them a lot of credit, they never quit, kept coming at us. I don't have his stats in front of me, but I believe their QB threw for pretty good numbers against us . . .

I wouldn't be shocked if they won 4 - 6 . .. If they can get some early success, get some positive mo going . . .

I also wouldn't be shocked if this year looked like the last couple . . . .

Three questions:

A: Is the cupboard bare, stocked, or overflowing for the new coat coach?
B: What will be Troy's known strengths and weaknesses going into the season?
C: Do you have any idea what the new coach plans to run on offense and defense?

You do realize our new coach was at Troy from 2006-2009 right? He was our OC from 2008-2009 and had a top 4 offense nationally at Troy.

He has went on to have 4 top 15 offense at Texas Tech since Troy and has had the nations fastest temp offenses much of that time.

I'll post a clip on what he does in just a few minutes.

Seriously, we need a chance to catch our breaths at UL. A sterling football season, culminating in another NOBowl victory. Tremendous success in men's and women's basket ball. Softball and baseball once again proved to be stellar. We are fatigued. Give us 6 weeks.

Thanks,

Z

Z...just wondering...do you think UL will ever win an outright SBC football championship? 07-coffee3

Just wondering, will that get us anymore pub than we already get? 07-coffee3

and yeah, not even sure if UL-L has ever even won a single one, so I'm not surprised you don't know what it is. someone correct me if I am wrong.

How about this hoss?

the 13-14 athletic year CBS ranked UL as the #38 (34?) ranked athletic program in the nation.

This year (14-15) Massey has us as the 3rd best non BCS program in the nation behind 2 AAC schools.

You can get off on Bubba Gump. Enjoy.
