Are we using drones at football practices yet??
Recently, some college and high school teams have taken things a bit further than just end-zone shots and all-22 footage, they are now using unmanned aerial vehicles, known as UAV's, or more popularly as drones, to film their practices.

After watching SMU use the drones to record their practices, the Dallas Cowboys have opted to experiment with the latest in filming technology. Piloted by SMU staffers, the Cowboys used drones during their recent rookie mini-camp.

geez. I thought the drones would be administering electric shocks to those who were out of position.

Lots of Drone use around DFW for sure! Colleges will start to catch on and The Power high schools as well. Once the NFL starts to promote video and the networks show more coverage from these quad copters, use will be rampant. There are still FAA regulations that need to be addressed for use to be more common. But be forewarned, that drones are coming to your area, and in droves.

I think that UNT also has a drone program that I will have my son visit when he comes here next month. Will be exciting, to say the least!

Happy droning!

hmmm.... We will be needing drones, if nothing else, to disable the spy drones.

Sounds like a way to find out what is going on at a closed practice. Another reason for the need for an inside practice facility. Maybe eventually we will see drones wars over football practice fields. No telling where this can end up.

02-13-banana Just remember to paint our drones Blue and Grey to combat the orange and white or whatever other competitor's drones are painted when we battle them over the football practice fields, etc.

Just a matter of time, if not currently being done, to spy on other programs. With the quality of cameras available, drones can be operated at an altitude that won't be noticed. But it probably won't be another team, rather an independent contractor who will subsequently attempt to sell his info in the marketplace to interested parties.
