Sound of the South (Troy band) away games
I get asked nearly every year if we will be bringing our band so here's the schedule.... Pep band consists of about 100 members give or take. Full band is around 350 mark.

NCSU sept 5th- Pep Band

Miss State Oct 10- Pep Band

GA State November 27- Full Band

UL Lafayette Dec 5th- Pep Band

** won't be traveling to App State probably due to Halloween. And won't be traveling to NMSU due to band festival in town that day.

I'm glad to have the opportunity to hear Troy's full band.... I have heard about how amazing your marching band is. I believe the GSU marching band performed at Troy last season.... I guess it's only natural that our two band programs travel to each other. Hopefully we can get a strong rivalry soon. Looking forward to seeing you all in the dome this season!

We were suppose to travel full band to GSU 2 years ago. But when we found out we were your Home Coming game and would not be able to perform on the field at halftime, we decided to only bring the pep band.

Damn. Didn't realize App wanted to see our band so bad.

I'll put the word out there and see what they say. But I doubt that changes. I'm sure there's a good reason why they Arnt going. Cause if available Troy sends atleast pep band everywhere.

Shared this a couple months back if you missed it. Its the Full band at South Alabama last year. Sounds wise we will blow any band out the water. Love when SEC schools put our band next to theirs. lol

Troy has a great band program. They sounded good in Paulson Stadium last year. Definitely better than JSU's band in my opinion.

RE: Sound of the South (Troy band) away games
I get mildly annoyed when Troy visits USA because where I sit is basically right in-between both bands' cone of noise.

so I end up hearing nothing but two bands trying to play over one-another.

sometimes one band will yield and let the other band play but a lot of the time, one band starting up is the cue for the other one to start up, which just makes them both sound like crap.

wish the bands would get on the same page or something so I can at least hear something

Let them come. I'll tell them to take their sloppy drill and unbalanced sound elsewhere. This threads for real schools with real bands. 05-mafia

Whatever you do, never put Troy's band in the Upper Deck, less you want Hail, Fire, and Brimstone to rain down on your program.
