Forward Targets-Where They Went
A partial list of some forwards that UT offered before Nate Navigato committed. Where they went:
6-9 Lacey James from Michigan - Rider
6-7 Brent Hibbits from Michigan - walk-on at Michigan
6-8 Tony Anderson from Ohio - SE Missouri
6-6 Austin Burnette from North Carolina - Prep School

I'm liking Nate even more as I read more. Does look like we got the best available out of that bunch. Hibbits walking on is odd, though--really surprised that he didn't end up at pretty much any one of the MAC schools.

Anderson and James both ended up at what I consider less desirable schools than UT as well I am very happy we got Nate as well,

Nothing lost, a lot gained. If it was, say 18 months ago, and Coach K had a chance to re open recruiting on this same group of players along with NN, I would be willing to wager that NN would be his #1 target.

I wouldn't be suprised if Coach K would divulge his recruiting board that NN was a top five recruit before he commited of Buffalo in September.

RE: Forward Targets-Where They Went
I always pay attention to recruiting in football and basketball, but sometimes there's a class that kinda captivates you as a fan. that seems headed for some great things. it doesn't always happen, but our fan instincts are usually right.
i really liked this class when it was adway and knapke. then, the good versatile indiana guard duo. to top to off we reinforced the crucial pg position with highest ranked recruit in the class, rogers. that gave us 3 of the top high school guards in Indiana. than, the universe balances and we get opposite reaction to the loss of justin moss to buffalo, by adding in navigato. sort of a mid major blue chip type recruit. real good all around player. and as if the basketball Gods could do no wrong. we got the perfect fit for our 13th scholarship. a big physical big east pf transfer to bang and teach the youngsters for a yr and then is a bonus 2016 recruit as a 5th yr sr.
safe to say everything fell into place for the staff. but, in reality, it reflects a lot of good hard work. coach k may not always keep his assistants around but he brings in guys who can do the job and develop some honest relationships with recruiting targets.
if you look at this class. they are built like a unit. pg, wings, forwards, shooting, ball handling, physicality, potential.

Well said Pono!!!!
I too am an official recruiting maniac/junkie. I follow it all very very closely. It's a hobby of sorts and yes I feel the same way about this class.

I am a new user here*
I also completely agree with you pono this recruiting class looks very good. A couple of big men with great potential and very good guards. Along with a very promising transfer.
