I know this young man personally. He comes from very good stock. Not likely to be an off-field problem.

I'm looking forward to what our baseball team is going to be like when we get all Curry recruits. I'm not a betting man, but I'm guessing that it will be much better than it's been.

I don't recall seeing a left handed thrower playing shortstop. Could be I have not watched enough Baseball.

RE: Cameron Stilwell commits
I've seen left handed catchers and left handed second basemen, but I don't think I've ever seen a left handed shortstop either, except maybe in Little League. He probably hits left and throws right.

It would be tough to make a play from deep in the hole lefthanded.

But he could easily throw out a runner heading for third base!

Some positions work best with particular throwing arms. Left at first; right at short, third and catcher. But that is only a general rule.

RE: Cameron Stilwell commits
Where are you guys getting that he throws left handed? All I saw was a "left handed hitting shortstop". To me that says he is a left handed hitter who plays shortstop. Seen a ton of baseball games, but even I have never seen a "left handed throwing shortstop." I have seen a couple of left handed catchers in amateur ball, but never in professional ball.

The Bambino, Babe Ruth was a left handed catcher while playing high school ball at St. Mary's Industrial school in Baltimore. Became a pitcher as a professional for the Baltimore Orioles minor league team. Switched to a outfielder with the Boston Red Sox where he came a fair hitter.

I read it again, and still didn't see anything about him being a right handed thrower. If anyone can find where it says he throws left, let me now and I'll make an eye appointment.

Maybe he's amphibious! Wait. Doesn't that mean he can throw underwater?

RE: Cameron Stilwell commits
I'll take the blame for confusion regarding Stilwell's throwing. I misinterpreted Pappy's post. Actually didn't take the time to absorb it correctly. Anyway, thanks to Pappy,we now have it right.
