This is what's known as the 'ugly' year for new teams. You take a bunch of players all at once while transitioning. Unlike with moveups, you get really uneven classes. Eventually you get a season where you've got a bunch of turnover.

So, do you guys need a pass on the 2015 season?

This is just reality setting in. Not sure what they were ranked lastvyear but couldn't have been much higher. The perception we have for our programs are often skewed by our own bias. Never really been sold on USA

Actually the classes were pretty well-balanced (Joey Jones was taught by Howard Schnellenberger not to load up like FAU did in their transition) but they went all in for 2014 a couple of years ago with JUCOs to supplement a solid core hoping for a breakout year. It wasn't quite as successful as they envisioned and now have to pay for it with more turnover than usual.

That would be nice, hopefully that would let us avoid a 3-9 overall record or 3-5 in the conference. Any help would be appreciated. 04-cheers

We started the year around 91. 98 sounds about right this year.

I'm predicting 5-7 (we have a rough schedule). 6-6 would be great. 7-5 would be awesome.

Wins

Gardiner Webb
@Troy
@Georgia State
Idaho

and catching one of

Arkansas State
ULL
App State

off guard at home.

I'm thinking 5-7, with wins over Gardner Webb, Troy, Ga. State, Idaho and App. State if the transfers work out. If they surprise us then another two wins are possible. JMO.

Coach Jones has had the ability to do more with less. So lets see how this year works out.

We can't have injuries this year.

Interesting that you're including App in there. Any particular reason?

2014 was supposed to be "it" but we were hamstrung by poor qb play in a couple games.

Not sure what i should expect from this season but I'm keeping expectations very low given our track record. Our planned "best season" was 6-6 with a bowl game loss.

Probably because we blew you out at home last season and aren't sure what to expect from you this season . just as good a reason as any.

South will likely go 0-3 vs Arkansas State, ULL, and Appalachian State. A win at Troy will not be easy. I see USA going 3-9, 4-8, or 5-7 tops. Would need some lucky bounces get to six wins in my opinion.

Many have fallen into the trap that you can just plug and play with "good talent" when you only have a handful of returning starters. "Talent for talent" ignores a myriad of intangible issues that will take time to solidify.

It is, but replaced with good UAB transfers- the same ones who blew Troy out to start the season.

Defense is the big question mark. Not sure we can win shootouts.

I predict our running game will be better. The question on offense is who will be QB, and if it's Clements will he be 100%.

Defense has me worried a little though, particularly the line. Patch that up and we'll be fine.
