Which ACC team do you most like non-ACC fans ..... and why?

As a Terps fan and former member of the ACC, I don't know if this makes me extremely qualified to answer this or just very biased. Anyway, here goes. I don't love any of the teams but the team that I like, respect and want to see do well is Clemson. They have a good, strong history of football. The game day atmosphere is incredible. From their loud and passionate fan base to their traditions. Howard's rock and running down the hill. It is just incredible. They win pretty consistently but not so much that you hate them (Florida State). I also like the fact that they play in-state smaller schools. But they aren't afraid to schedule big OOC games, they have Auburn and Texas A&M coming up in addition to the yearly rivalry game with South Carolina.

Well there is only 1 football team I always liked and that is FSU.
All other schools (except Miami) in the conference to me are basketball schools.

Its a toss up between NC St and VT.

NC St because I and most NIU fans wish Dave Doeren the best for his team.

VT because of the support they gave NIU after that UofI student killed 5 of our students.

Like Terps said Clemson gets my respect. Clemson has less than 20,000 students and in a very small town. Yet they still fill up the 80000 person football stadium and have strong traditions. The reason great alumni support. When Alumni leave the school they leave with a deep feeling of respect and history that makes them donate and come back and support the tigers constantly. NC State is twice the size of Clemson but would kill for their alumni and fan support. Just a great program and school.

FSU,Wake, GT and NC State are the only ACC teams I don't hold some level of dislike for. I went with Wake

What? I'm shocked that you didn't vote for VT or Pitt!

I voted for UNC-Chapel Hill.

I almost went for VPI (I wish Virginia Tech used VPI still), as I applied there when I was younger and was accepted.

I've also heard nice things about Syracuse.

If this was basketball, you would get a lot of response. I don't think people feel too strongly about ACC football. I guess if I had to pick it would be VT as I like what Beamer did with nothing and I had a niece graduate from there.

I went with NC State since our coach (who did well for us) went there, though Va Tech is another good one.

Ville. We had a good rivalry brewing in football back in the BE 2.0. I couldn't give a sh!+ about any of the other programs.

I have a tremendous respect for the way Louisville has built their football program from nothing to a perennial top 25 team. Louisville and UConn are the teams I miss from the Big East.

Wake, they're the underdog school and they have a badass mascot.

Really only two choices, IMO. Duke and GT. I'm a big fan of Cutcliffe and what he's done but the edge goes to Paul Johnson and his practically flawless option offense. Hate playing against it, love watching it.

Wake Forest has the best mascot in football

Georgia Tech, because of the Paul Johnson-Hawaii connection. Back in 1992, Hawaii won a WAC championship and beat Illinois in the Holiday Bowl with Johnson as OC. He also mentored Ken Niumatalolo, who I knew as a kid in Honolulu, at Navy.

I'd love to get UConn back on the schedule. Maybe Julie can work UConn & Temple into a regular rotation. With only 3 OOCs a year that might be too much to ask for though.
