In regard to whether he means indoor practice facility or OCS, I think FBHC Clark has said we need state of the art practice facilities right now more than the OCS. We want both of course - eventually, but we first need to keep athletes from being injured by the old practice field's "hole poxed surface".

I think I'll wait for something with more substance.

I agree with Band Dad. I don't want to pass along hearsay about someone else's donation. I'd say its best to wait for more substantive numbers from the source. i'd be more comfortable doing that.

I am confused about Alan Collins tweet, did he mean Jimmy has given $7 Million and that's $15 million total for #FreeUAB or Jimmy gave a total of $15 million?

I think he means $15M total but that's a low ball number because he's not including the SGA or city of Bham commitment.

I suspect that fundraisers are going to continue in their quest to not only raise enough to sustain the football program for the next five years, build practice facilities, and even more, but also are going to raise enough to build UABs on campus football stadium. I don't think, for a minute, that they are going to stop at the thirty million dollar figure that has already been committed.

Agreed because having an oncampus football stadium makes it infinitely more difficult to shut down football should they attempt it at a later time.

That's why it was denied first time around. Not because of borrowing money, but because they couldn't stop it ever at that point.
Keep that in mind when they start turning down undergraduate buildings. This already almost started with the new School of Business building.

So is the new business building a go or not? I hadn't kept up with that in a while.

It got the first couple of stages approved. I think those approvals allow UAB to modify the master plan and contract with an architect. Does not allow any construction work to happen yet. But, the meeting previous it had been delayed for "study".
