Time to break out the stats on what the BoT's new frat house costs and how much the people inside are getting paid.

Robert Witt will turn 75 in September and face mandatory retirement. But he's not likely to still be in office by then.

"The board is there to provide support, advice and counsel and the services I mentioned. The major advantage in my perspective is the campuses are quite autonomous."

Come ON.

What makes you say that?

RE: BBJ: Why UA System Chancellor Robert Witt likes the current UA System board structure
In 1964 when the federal court ruled in Reynolds v Simms that the almost 70 years of state denial of equal representation in the state legislature for Jeffco had to end, the first words out of the state legislature's mouth was "Give us more time".

Today, the system BOT is crying the same tune in its efforts to keep the Crimson dominated BOT "as is" forever. It has kept its power intact since 1969 and shows no sign of giving a single inch in spite of its responsibilities to two sister campuses created that year. In 2019 it will be 50 years of waiting for the BOT to do justice to its constituents, and so far it has not moved one inch from 1969.

It's already circulating within UAB that he is gone this summer, and Watts is gone when Witt's replacement is on the job. I assume they'll wait to replace Judy Bonner until they replace Witt as well

I expect them to replace Bonner, then Witt, then Watts. Unless Watts goes off the reservation.

What's the BOT's logic on getting rid of Witt? Too old?

Mandatory state retirement at age 75 if I'm not mistaken.

Right. His shelf life is expiring if they want to sacrifice him to the angry mob. And apparently they do.
