Nippert renovation coming along very well. Besides the club seating and luxury suites, the East and West side is getting new concessions and restrooms, which is greatly needed. Concourse and common areas was always tight.

RE: For the Stadium geeks
I've always envied UC for having a stadium like Nippert. It's right in the middle of campus and the seats are practically on top of the field, plus the new press/suite tower is going to trap a lot of sound and make for a killer atmosphere. Yager will be pretty nice once we build the new suites and locker room/weight room building (ETA 2017-18) to go along with our brand-new IPF, but at the end of the day it's a concrete stadium built in the 80's. I've always wished that the Miami administration around a hundred years ago built a grand old structure where old Miami Field was instead of just putting up some aluminum bleachers.

Looks really nice!

After that I'll refrain from posting the possibilities for new turf designs at Huskie stadium. LOL.

Been to about 10 UC games at Oxford, I like it. Yager works well.

RE: For the Stadium geeks
That is going to look really, really nice.

I have been to UC twice - once about 15 years ago for a Beck concert and again about five years back fro a Pitt/UC game.

That campus came a LOOOOOOONG way in that time. The first time I saw it, I thought it was horrible. The next time, I really liked it.

Nippert itself is definitely cool but it needs these upgrades. The bathroom situation in particular was Wrigley Field renovations-esque. The lines were just horrendous.

These renderings look amazing and with the quality of school Cincinnati has, as well as its market, the only thing left is its facilities. I am told by people who I know who go to school there/graduated from there that the gym needs upgraded or replaced too but I have never been there so I cannot say one way or the other.

I think Cincinnati is doing a great job of positioning itself for the next round of openings. I would place them and Central Florida in the top two spots on that particular list with Brigham Young, Connecticut and South Florida not too far behind.

This renovation by UC reminds a lot of Louisville's expensive expansion of Papa Johns.

Compared to 15 years ago I still pinch myself around campus and across the street from campus. You are right the campus area has come a really long way. We do need to renovate 5/3 Arena.

It has a lot of parking, plenty of bathrooms/concession stands, and its looked nice since we scraped the bleachers and added the Cradle plaza ten years ago. But other than that, it's just a generic MAC stadium to be honest. Once we finish the renovations and add a red brick facade it'll stand out among the G5, but Yager (and Millett for that matter) will always be hampered by how far away it is from the core of campus and uptown Oxford.

How far is UC from downtown Cincinnati? It looks like you could get some great downtown views from the upper deck, much like GT and bobby Dodd Stadium.

The main issue for views of downtown is that the UC campus sits "up" on a hill, while downtown (proper) sits quite a vertical distance below. Meaning that you simply cannot see downtown because it's below the brow of the hill.
