To take this one step further, stop attacking journalists covering the story.

1. It makes you look like a gump.

I agree with all points, but what is this thing with Birdsong? I never really bothered with any of his articles because I usually either knew the outcome of a particular game or went to ESPN to find out. Same reason I never bothered with UABSports, actually.

Birdsong never watched tropic thunder, thereby missing RDJrs key message in that timeless film... I'll leave it at that.

My comment wasn't directed at you. It was directed at the poster who sees PR firms hiding in the bushes every where, and claimed that Talty was just repeating what Watts PR firm told him to repeat.

So what did Birdsong do? I must have missed what you guys are referring to.

I think there is very real hope.

Birdsong didn't "do" anything so much as a beat writer, he should have learned to write at some point.

Talty has written some good articles. When he has written from the pro-UAB (football/FreeUAB) point of view I tend to have liked his articles. When he has written negative articles about UAB Football (or sides with the pro-opposition camp) I tend to have disliked his articles.

Personally, I don't think he's trying to win a Pulitzer and ultimately doesn't care one way or another, but is just trying to sell news papers.
