Well, all that means is fewer RPI drags...I'm ok with that.

Yup. Temple, Tulsa, UCONN, Memphis, and SMU all twice. That's ten out of 18 games that should be Top 50 with a few Top 25 RPI in there. Hopefully one or two of the bottom teams at least become top 150 teams this year.

Solid schedule, both non-conference and conference. It's time for this Bearcat team to win early and often, get ranked and stay ranked. That's not a shot at coaches or players concerning the past few years.

It's just that Cincinnati basketball is historically elite and it's time to see them take that next step in returning to the national conversation.

Any rumors on non-conference opponents? I know we have 2 games in the tournament with George Washington, Tennessee, and Nebraska (plus 2 buy games related to it I think), as well as Butler, Iowa State, @Xavier and @VCU. I haven't heard anything lately about Murray State -- is that still a possibility?

We have to go up a level this year...ranked and a run in the ncaa. We cant keep being "ncaa decent" and settle for just making the ncaa and/or winning A game. We need to play for seeding and make a run.

Mick's health stays strong the entire season.

While I think this is the year where taking the next step is pretty big, considering the pieces we have, I don't like when people say "settling for just making the tourney every year" as if that's easy. If we make a run like we did from '92-'05 and make 14 straight tourneys, you will guaranteed see a few good runs (see our final four and a couple elite eights). And that's even with dropping the ball many years. Unless you're maybe Gonzaga, nobody makes the tourney every year and just continues to go nowhere.

point is we need to start doing something in the NCAA....even some of those great Hugg's teams flamed out in the second round. We need to establish ourselves as a consummate Sweet 16 team+ type program.

Ask not what your basketball program can do for you, but what you can do for your basketball program.

What we need is a fan base that comes to every game in the kind of numbers that prove we are Big Time.
