I find it interesting that NC is listed as #4 for BBQ states, but no restaurants are represented in the top 10.

I am moving back to Georgia and covering the entire state for my company. I have a customer in Blue Ridge.... I know where I am taking them to eat when I visit them.

Can we all agree that "BBQ" is pig and not cow? Brisket can be delicious, but pork is king.

It's a top ten for this year... I'm sure there have been many a mustard sauce joints on there before. That's my guess as I have eaten at Joe's and it is good... But I've had much better.

Yep. Agree.

Although -- and I really hate to say this -- after one episode several years back where that Dirty Jobs dude went and fed pigs slop from Vegas, I almost gave up pork forever. I mean, I think I saw fat-assed hog eat a tampon on that show. Only thing that would've been worse was if it had gone into a sewer and ate the leftover corn.

Oh, and my favorite place for cue is Smoakies down in Cordele. His spicy mustard sauce is about as good as it gets. And being from SC, I gotta go with the mustard.

Best BBQ I have ever eaten is in Destin Fla. Its a little walk up place and has changed owners now but it is fantastic. Best BBQ chicken hands down I have ever had. Its called Pigs Alley, and if you are there for a holiday weekend you better call ahead literally 2 months before then. Its very small and they often run out of food. Anyone ever in Destin and wants BBQ look them up, you wont be sorry.

RE: OT: America's best BBQ
Heirloom Market BBQ is my favorite pork. Their sides are solid, but the pulled pork is the best I've ever had at a restaurant. They serve their sauce on the side like it should be. If you have really good Q you don't need much sauce at all. Just a little for dippin.

Technically, BBQ, aka barbeque, is the style of cooking meats. It can be pig, beef, turkey, and other meats.

Chili is technically a stew containing meat and chili peppers, often with tomatoes and beans.

Those are the facts.

As far as what's better, barbeque pork and chili with beans are what people with taste buds prefer.

You're right. It would be an issue if NC had mustard based BBQ. Don't confuse us with the lesser Carolina.
