Fun with QB stats
Waiting for FB season to start again so just some QB stats from the past decade for your perusal. Make of it what you will. I think there should be a significant improvement for Junior and Senior years. I don't know how they calculated the efficiency ratings and it was missing on Niuhuskies.com for the first few years. First is completions/attempts, after the completion % is the TD/INT ratio. Hopefully this will be in a readable format when it is posted.

2014: Hare: 194/326, 59.5% comp, 18/2, 2322 yds, 136.3 efficiency
2013: Lynch: 253/404, 62.6% comp, 24/8, 2892 yds, 138.4 efficiency
2012: Lynch: 237/394, 60.2% comp, 25/6, 3138 yds, 144.9 efficiency
2011: Harnish: 237/384, 61.7% comp, 28/6, 3216 yds, 153.0 efficiency
2010: Harnish: 189/292, 64.7% comp, 21/5, 2530 yds, 157.8 efficiency
2009: Harnish: 143/226, 64.1% comp, 11/6, 1670 yds, 137.9 efficiency
2008: Harnish: 118/211, 55.9% comp, 8/9, 1528 yds, 120.7 efficiency
2007: Nicholson: 151/248, 60.9% comp, 9/14, 1633 yds, 116.88 efficiency
2006: Horvath: 157/269, 58.4% comp, 11/9, 1932 yds, 125.5 efficiency
2006: Nicholson: 60/115, 52.2% comp, 5/6, 648 yds, 103.42 efficiency
2005: Horvath: 168/238, 70.6% comp, 18/8, 2001 yds, 159.45 efficiency
2005: Nicholson: 59/92, 62.1% comp, 6/2, 831 yds, 152.21 efficiency
2004: Haldi: 94/175, 52.5% comp, 15/4, 1384 yds, 140.65 efficiency
2004: Horvath: 72/123, 58.5% comp, 6/7, 954 yds, 128.4 efficiency
2003: Haldi: 199/336, 59.2% comp, 25/9, 2544 yds
2002: Haldi: 130/254, 51.2% comp, 15/6, 2027 yds
2001: Finlen: 166/331, 50.2% comp, 14/9, 2036 yds

So much for the value of statistics.

Most of the stats make sense, but I don't know how they calculate the efficiency rating - Horvath kinda makes a mockery of that number.

I mean he did complete 70% of his passes.

RE: Fun with QB stats
True, I guess I'm just confusing that with QB rating. He only had about 2000 passing yards and not a stupendous TD/INT ratio so "efficiency" only says so much.

Efficiency is QB rating. That said, the college way of calculating QB rating differs from the NFL version.
