SNES's were notorious for yellowing of their plastic shells.

Man...I bought one at launch and it's still a brilliant grey, even with 4 years in a college dorm/fraternity house.

Fortnite BR is pretty fun. Basically a cartoon version of PUBG that is so much easier.

FBR is going to corner the console BR market before PUBG even releases.

Smash 4 on the 3DS turns 3 years old tomorrow
[Image: 2856641_sa.jpg;maxHeight=550;maxWidth=642]

I really liked the 3DS iteration of the game and that game's exclusive stages versus the ones on the WiiU.

I found I did play a different set of characters well in the 3DS version versus the WiiU version for some reason.

I'm still impressed that a portable system could pull off a competent version of the game too.

I really hope Nintendo does a Smash DLX for Switch where both game's stages can be on one platform.

At this point it’s pointing towards a new game altogether. I would think they would’ve done a deluxe version in year 1.

I don't know how I feel about Mario Odyssey. On one hand, it's a very good game and very entertaining...but I can't help but think if you remove the "Mario" from the game, it wouldn't be getting to 10/10's it has been throughout the last week. As I said to a buddy, much like Zelda, it's a solid 8-8.5/10 getting a 1-2 point bump due to the name on the box and everyone's attachment to it. Don't get me wrong, both are great games, but I certainly don't think they belong anywhere near the top of the list for greatest games...hell neither comes close to my Witcher 3 test.

RE: OT: The Official Video Game Discussion Thread
Anyone else playing with emulators? My old consoles are starting to die so I've taken to emulators to play old favorites. I've almost finished The Twin Snakes (MGS1 remake) on a Gamecube emulator.

The setup is pretty nice. I ran a 25ft HDMI cable from the PC next to my bed over to the HDTV mounted on the opposite wall. Got a wired xbox 360 controller which plugs right into the PC's USB port. So I can lay in bed and play the emulator on my TV, using an xbox controller. The TV is set up like a 2nd monitor so my wife can still use the PC while I'm playing an emulated game

As for the game of the moment, I'm loving Twin Snakes. Some MGS fans crap on it because the cut-scenes are more outlandish than the original (Snake does a backflip onto a mid-air rocket for example) but it's a game, not a documentary. This game has a psychic/telekinetic boss fight, an invisible ninja who gets off on pain, a dude who stands there expressionless while beaten eaten alive by hundreds of ravens, not to mention everyone breaking the 4th wall all the time. Realism was not the objective!

How does the Psycho Mantis fight work with the controller setup you've got? That would be an interesting thing to look into mechanics-wise...and was one of the cooler moments for quite some time when they referred to save files and whatnot.

I'm not quite on the 10 bandwagon with the game yet. Then again, I am only 2/3 through the game so far so.... If all the kingdoms so far had been as in-depth as New Donk City I could get there....

I'm using the Dolphin emulator which has 4 virtual ports which you assign to the controller you want to use. So normally I assign virtual port #1 to my xbox controller

For the Mantis fight I had to go into the controller settings and reassign the xbox controller to port #2 to get past his mind reading
