I'm on my cell phone so I can't see the videi, but does he mean $20 million additional from a single entity? If that is just some sort of sponsorship with advertising implications that is still monumental and sets UAB football for good. It would be criminal not to take that kind of money.

I've listened to it a few times trying to decipher exactly what he meant.

He said that as of right now we have $13.5 million pledged. Whether or not his quote is meant as we have interest that will push our total number well over $20 million or that there are entities that are interested in pledges exceeding $20 million, doesn't really matter to me. Either way, it's huge! Either way, it's the "donut hole" plus a lot.

The way I hear it, though, he makes it sound like a specific pledge is in that range. Maybe that's just what I want to hear.

I took it as overall. Which is still great... that's almost $7 million per year. Suck it Watts!

Sorry, but 20 Mil over 5 yrs is 4Mil / year. Regardless, that is a nice BIG number for the Pres to mull over.

If he's saying publicly >20 mil then he's sitting on some big numbers. You don't say something like that unless you're really sure and you're probably going to far exceed it

As I have said many times before, I strongly suspect that with the business support which Justin is going after and once Jimmy Filler and Harold Ripps chime in there will be enough financial support from boosters to not only fill in the CSS "donut hole" but also build the facilities (indoor practice facility, new coach's offices, etc.) which Coach Clark feels are necessary for the long term success of program even if we have to continue to play at Legion Field.

I love how Justin states that he doesn't see an option where football doesn't get reinstated. As if only a complete buffoon wouldn't correct their mistake. I like that mindset.

I just wish I didn't know that Watts was a complete buffoon.

This is the dark side's worst nightmare. After football comes back, they are going to lose more and more control. When it comes back and thrives they won't be able to turn down the stadium because the money will do the talking for us.
