CUSA All-Conference Baseball Awards
FAU's Brandon Sanger win Player of the Year, while USM's James McMahon wins Pitcher of the Year. Somehow the MTSU coach was named Coach of the Year, how after his team flopped the way it did, and had such a mediocre OOC record, I do not know.
On the plus side...
- Ryan Chandler won Freshman of the Year honors
- First team all-conference honors went to. Stainback, Reeves, Orewiler, Stephens and Ditman
- Second team honors went to: Taylor
- Otto inexplicably not named to all-Freshman squad.

In my opinion, the omission of Otto was egregious.

Agree with that 100%
2 starts, 20 app, 2-0, 1 save, 31.2 IP, 1.71 ERA, 1.52 BAA, 22 BBs, 54 Ks (and only 3 extrabase hits)
Items bolded above represent team lead. Only Ditman appeared in more games, and no one on the staff had a better Ks/IP ratio.

I'm sure they just looked at which freshmen pitched the most innings.

RE: CUSA All-Conference Baseball Awards
All-Conference Teams are selected from statistics for C-USA games only. Not that the fact makes him less deserving, only that those numbers aren't what were compared in the selection process.

??? First off, I don't think that's true (that teams are selected based on CUSA games only). Second, Otto's stats improved as the year progressed. I'm willing to bet his conference stats were quite similar to his aggregate stats.

Even if his stats were not as good in conference, which I doubt, he could have dropped quite a bit and still bested those selected.
