and the gutterhogs keep Anderson, we will start signing some Arkansas players. On the other hand, I'm fine with Coach Beard bringing in Texas kids who are likely better than all but one or 2 players in our whole State.

RE: As long as we keep Coach Beard...
I wouldn't get ahead of myself as far as that's concerned. I'm excited too, but I think the only way we can start winning some in state recruiting battles is if we become a consistent winner. I feel like Beard can do that (as long as he doesn't get swooped up by a Power 5 team) but we haven't seen it yet. I bet we will though!

Anderson has already shown he can't sign the best in Arkansas (Goodwin; K. Allen) unless they have dreamed of being swine since birth (Portis). Even Beard had committed to Missouri before Haith left. Coach Beard won't shy away from head-to-head battles with the Chickenhawgs.

Damn you are excited. Never seen you this excited even with Shields. I like Coach Beard and am excited too, but this guy hasn't even coached a game, and we've not seen any of these recruits in action. But, there's hope that there's gold at the end of the rainbow.

Damn Mickey, if this excitement you've got over Coach Beard and his recruiting was sex, you've already used your share of orgasms.

And I'm sure I get to have 2 or 3 more before the recruiting season is over. Really never believed a coach could come in this late and bring in this many quality players. When Newell did it, it was before the internet and before recruiting services, AAU, and summer camps were as big as they are now. There were a lot more "diamond in the rough" out there that coaches didn't know about. Much harder to find under the radar players than it used to be. Of course, a first team Juco all-American is not an under the radar player.
