candidate of the 5 finalists, what he is doing so far is blowing me away. Does anyone who wanted Joe Kleine believe he would be stealing players from Latech and signing guys being offered by Big 12 and Pac 10 schools? I'll take Pappy's advice (from his blog) and try to just remain "cautiously" optimistic, but it's hard to do right now.

I haven't been this excited since Wimp came on board. Will Neighbour's arrival is the only thing that comes close. Obviously we will see how this all pans out on the floor, but I've never seen anything like this.

Either have I. Newell obviously brought in some talented guys in a situation very similar to this. However, there was no internet or way of knowing much about guys like Michael Clark, Pete Myers, Worthy, etc. We just had Newell's word about the guys he signed. Coach Beard doesn't have to say anything- we just can go online and see how good some of these guys are.

Never seen this guy this excited. Just think how excited he'd be if we'd ever get the free bologna sandwiches back.

Bologna sandwiches would be great. Been trying to do a "reality" check this morning. The guys we are signing look really great. But, are any going to better than James White would have been as a 5th year senior?- probably not. Are any going to be better than James Reid would have been as a senior?- Possibly, but I don't really know. Will the Juco All-American point guard be better than a 6th year JT? Maybe not immediately, but eventually I feel confident in saying yes.
Regardless, I still think the players Coach Beard is getting this late in the recruiting season is amazing. We could have been really hurting with the loss of James White, James Reid, and JT Thomas. I now think our overall talent will be just as good, if not better, than it would have been if everyone stayed. And Coach Beard is not done recruiting yet.

I'm anxious to see his substitution pattern. Hope he doesn't bench a guy when he gets hot.
