I've been on this board for a few years now, it's become a pretty inhospitable place for UConn fans both here and especially on the realignment board. Who needs to read little digs from fans of crap athletic schools all the time?

Agreed.
Hopefully Uconn and UC can get out of here sooner vs later....

I didn't necessarily mean teams from this conference, as this place is overrun with slugs from the MAC, Sunbelt and CUSA constantly. But if you took offense, it may have hit too close to home.
Naw. It didn't hit close to home. It just amazes me how fans of "left behind teams" love to randomly come over here and bless us with their unwarranted elitist attitudes towards fans of this conference.

I wouldn't have phrased this comment as harshly, but I agree with the underlying sentiment of it. The realignment board is full of P5 fans who hate UConn merely because UConn has achieved more than their schools. The fans of G5 schools over there hate UConn because their schools have also achieved nothing compared to UConn (so mocking UConn's lack of P5 status makes them feel better about themselves).
Over here, tons of fans crap on UConn due to the last few down years in football. Sure, football does "drive the bus" monetarily for power conferences, but at the G5 level the football bus is nothing more than a short bus. Hoop is the only thing that G5 schools have a fair shot in (and as we saw this year after getting slighted on NCAA tourney bids, that is even up for debate). As for fans of other AAC schools, go out and win 4 national titles (hell, just go out and win ONE in a major sport) before you crap on UConn. Naturally, UConn fans have a short fuse based on those trying to drag us down to make themselves feel better.
That is why UConn fans hide out on the Boneyard these days. Why deal with the haters.

Tulane and Tulsa have gotten it far worse than UConn.
With that said, UConn doesn't really get that much abuse on this subforum. It's mostly the realignment board that likes to troll you.
The problem with using "success" in sports is that you and I didn't really win or lose any games. Those sidewalk Ohio State fans that never went to the school or donated to the program really don't have a single hand in "winning" much of anything.
I learned this lesson the hard way with Tulane losing a ton of games over the past few years. It taught me pretty quickly that the football team's success or failure doesn't REALLY matter one iota in my life - and that it's a simple "fun" activity that I have a close tie to one of the teams in. Nothing more, nothing less.

Most of the fans here are good to UConn fans. It is only a few bad apples that hate on UConn constantly.
As for Tulane and Tulsa, I like both schools being a part of this conference. Having other schools in the conference that also value academics is an appealing thing to me.
Anyway, I don't avoid this board because it is usually a pretty fun place. The realignment board is dead to me, though.

This. Winning a football game isn't why I tailgate. Winning a football game isn't why I support Tulane. Winning isn't why I Roll Wave
Well another glaring difference is Uconn is the state school and only show in town for most sports. They have very little competition for live and local sports. So they are the only college sports team in a high end income state. Where everyone else here is a little brother.. in some cases the 2 3 or 4 or 5 little brother in line.

I love and respect the good UConn fans here; and that. They are intelligent sports fans that can converse at a high level. That respect and love came a bit slowly after understanding that a couple of vocal posters didn't represent the majority of UConn fans. All of us have some fans that just don't have the capacity or skill to deal with people that don't agree with them or use forums for their own personal entertainment space.
I had to go back and review previous posts by TRest3 to realize that his "crap athletic schools" comment probably wasn't aimed specifically at AAC member universities, but probably more to the nut jobs on the realignment board. Understanding backgrounds and context puts everything in a more clear light. His previous posts here and even on the realignment board were clearly not detrimental to the conference or our members. In fact, I deleted a smart#$% comment that I responded to his "crap athletic schools" post after understanding the background.

Did you find my previous incarnations as TRest, TRest1, and TRest2? Those guys shat all over this conference.
Actually, I have such a hard time logging in to this board in the past that I had to keep making new accounts. At any rate, kudos to having the time to research my posting history.
Tulsa fans don't really have a lot of true hate for UCONN. We as well as Tulane have had our share of hate directed toward us too. It quickly gets tiring. It does help though to better define what direction your post is meant to be directed TRest3, since the post was rather vague in the extreme. Posts like that are like lightning rods will draw hate from both sides of the NCAA. Inside and outside the P5. I don't hit the Re-alignment board so guess I don't really understand your real meaning either I guess. Most Re-alignment boards are usually considered Troll city.
