OT: UVA's QB exodus continues
Grayson Lambert----gone. They are down to one scholarship QB until a freshman shows up in June. Color London gone. If he gets canned this year, what, if anything, does that mean for us??

I think Wilder will be safe with his son on our team!!! I also have the feeling if and when he does leave ODU he will take most the coaches that came from Maine with him. Bud Foster has to make a move sooner than later. UVA would be great for him.

Also given the way London has worked out (a former FCS HC with a Nat. Champ.) I doubt they will pick from the FCS level twice in a row. Still, you never know...

No way I can see Bud Foster getting the UVA job. You must not have heard about all of the baggage Foster has. It is a reason besides Bud's loyalty to Frank Beamer that Bud has not left for a premiere Head Coaching job.

UVA picked London from the ranks of the FCS (head coach Richmond) and Richmond had won a FCS National Championship under him. He has not worked out so well for them and I think that would make them hesitant to go pick a coach from the FCS ranks twice in a row, like Wilder, to replace him.

Enlighten me on the baggage Bud Foster has. I have only heard great things about the man from the Tapp family. The only issue I see is his loyalty to Frank Beamer.

We're not FCS. That's reserved for cute little purple women's colleges.

Well to the thinking of the good folks I know and talk with from UVA we, Wilder/ODU, have been FCS then transitioned and this will be our 1st full/true FBS year. Wilder's success (nationally ranked, playoffs, Walter Payton winner) was all at the FCS level. So he seems to them to be a lot like London. Now if his success continues at the FBS level for say the next 4-5 years and they are at that time shopping for a coach I would expect them to come after him. For now, I saw again, I don't think UVA will be after our guy. Selfishly I am happy about that.

I think Bud's baggage is worse than Blaine's. What I heard came from someone that worked in the VT athletic office.

Well to be fair we were 6-10 vs FBS teams during our 2 year transition so they could be more impressed with that than I think.

London was a coach at UVA before he took the UR job. He was also a good recruiter for them as well. So it wasn't just his success at UR that got him that job. He's still a failure. For some reason UVA is very loyal to these guys. Al groh was there a long while after he should have been canned.

I'm interested in seeing if we offer Cutler while he's a JuCo. He could be a really good fit but it's not exactly a position of need.
