Pappy's blog brings up something that has always bugged me.
The number of timeouts in a basketball game. Especially the media time outs. If you're going to have a media timeout every four minutes, then the coaches timeouts need to be cut back severely.

I don't know what a reasonable number would be, but I would say two per half, max. If my math is correct, that would give you seven time outs per half, assuming you used the coaches two. That's more than enough.

Also eliminate the timeout after a made basket. One of the worst rules in basketball. How can you call a timeout when you no longer have possession of the basketball. It just prolongs games.04-cheers

Looks like the NCAA will cut out one time out and go to a 30 second clock for the men.

And, for the women, instead of 2 20 min halves, it'll be 4 10 min. quarters.
