Thanks, seniors!
Even though we won another conference championship it's been a rather disappointing season considering the high expectations, but we're losing some terrific young men and their families. Yesterday was bitter-sweet for many. Most of the parents were proud of their sons for graduating, but having to leave behind some good friends and not having their boys to cheer on with the Blue and Gray anymore. Thank you seniors for all you've done, both on and off the field. We say goodbye and Godspeed. These young men all have their degrees and will be successful in their chosen careers.

+1

Although I think we should be thanking all the seniors in general yesterday, and not just those in baseball. In particular, I'd like to offer up thanks and appreciation to Natalie Beazant, one of Rice's best-ever female athletes, or some of the seniors in men's hoops like Seth Gearhart and Dan Peera, who I respect greatly for helping us make a difficult transition but perhaps leading the way back towards respectability in that sport. Congrats to all three on receiving their degrees.

Bob, let's not say goodbye so quickly. Hopefully, we have a post-season run in us, and we still have considerable work to do to keep the 40-win streak alive.

I was basically talking about at Reckling. We've made friends with a lot of parents and we will miss them as well as the players. Same with Seth, Dan and a lot of football players who will be moving on.

Most of the parents roadtrip, especially throughout the post-season, so I hope to see them at the Regionals, wherever that might be.

Bob, Sandy and I missed seeing you guys this past Saturday, Matt along with several other "Baseball" athletes participated in the commencement ceremony and then we moved on to Reckling for some picture taking. We had a great experience during our "active" years at Rice in 2007 and 2008 and we cherish all of the relationships that we made. I speak for the entire "Langwell" family when I say that we will always support Rice athletics....thanks again and "GO OWLS"

I never thought a thread thanking/congratulating seniors would be a source of discord.

Yeah, I thought the thread was just to show appreciation for Old Owl and Another Old Owl.
