Just out of curiosity, what type of playing surface do all CUSA teams have in their stadiums?

An artificial surface called Matrix Turf.

UTEP's 6 year old artificial turf is being replaced this summer with FieldTurf Classic HD CoolPlay. The natural grass field for football practice at Glory Field will get that same FieldTurf and the soccer field will have it's grass replaced with FieldTurf. All this summer.

I believe we have the newest version of AstroTurf.

Our field is fabricated from a special polymer of bourbon, noise and pain. It is designed to expose the fears in the weak hearts of our opponents. This polymer binds to the shoes of visiting teams creating heavy feet and indecisive minds. We top it with our special touchdown sauce and sop it all up with a Tudor's biscuit. If you step on our field to face our team, you will be made into sausage gravy.

It is damn good gravy.

Does the "CoolPlay" part mean it doesn't get ridiculously hot on a sunny summer day like most artificial turfs?

We actually had a sprinkler system installed with our first artificial surface in order to be able to cool the darned thing down.

Yes. The claim by the FieldTurf people is that it can be as much as 35 degrees cooler than previous artificial turf systems.
