Gotta admit, I thought Berry needed to go, but he has his guys playing their best ball when it counts! MTSU had only lost one conference home game all season, and we just swept them at their place!

All the remaining conference games for us all are at Southern Miss!

We'll I'm glad the team is getting hot at the right time but still not sure if it is Berry. The players know this is his contract year ans they are playing hard for him. If he stays me personally it will be the same results though I do like that we went 5-0 against the SEC this year. I'm still not sure about him at this point.

Means little in the long run if we don't keep it up this week and into the Regionals....but yeah, the team has delivered, for sure.

I'm not going to say that I think Berry staying at the program is a good thing....but barring a choke in the conference tourney, we'll be in the Regional and there's no way anyone will want him out.

I certainly give him credit for putting together this streak....but it doesn't change my feelings on him as a coach. This is supposed to be the payoff year. Everyone in the lineup is either a junior or has a full year of starting experience, except for one freshman, who is one of the best on the team. He has two experienced starters in the rotation--one a fifth-year senior finally delivering and the other a sure-fire draft pick--and a bullpen that has a wealth of talent and experience.

We SHOULD be good....and it will take at least a couple of Regional wins to redeem the last three years of underachievement and shittiness for me.

That said, enjoy the ride. This has been fun.

There's a segment of our fan base that will tell you when we win it's because of the soft schedule and when we lose it's Berry's fault.

I believe there's a good chance the tournament will move to a somewhat neutral site at the new Biloxi Shuckers AA park next season. They plan to put in a bid and hope to get a 3-5 year commitment from CUSA.

Good luck, Eagles-- hope to meet you guys again in the championship game (if we are both so fortunate). I think you guys need at least one more victory, and ideally two, to lock up your at large birth, giving the conference three post-season teams.

Ever since joining the conference in 2005, Rice has played very well whenever visiting Hattiesburg and playing in The Pete-- both during the regular season (I don't think we've ever lost a road series to you guys) and in CUSA tournaments. Hopefully, that solid play continues this week. As has been the case all year, the question is whether we will beat ourselves with porous defense and poor baserunning. I fully expect our pitching and offense to show up.
