It appears Draymond is headed for max money as well and Gasol is a more skilled player, and possibly a player to build a team around. He will get a max deal.

RE: GS at Griz
Green at 11.7 PPG, 8.2 RPG and 3.7 APG is a GREAT PIECE but definitely not worthy of a max deal. 6-7 Million per year max.
I also don't see him being nearly as successful in a different system.
Kerr as HC:
MPG: 31.5
PPG: 11.7
RPG: 8.2
APG: 3.7
2 seasons before Kerr:
MPG: 17.65
PPG: 4.6
RPG: 4.2
APG: 1.8
It'll be 100% different playing for anyone else. Without Curry, Thompson and Barnes out there a lot more pressure goes on the 4 and 5 spots.
Given Max at his position would mean he is on the level of Duncan, Griffen, ZBO, Davis, Aldridge, Dirk, Love, Millsap etc.. Yes, I know he is listed as a SF but he plays at the 4 and those are the players he plays against.
Golden State will not be able to afford Curry, Thompson and Green at Max and still have a good enough team to compete.
I just don't see Green coming close to Max.

His mins went up and he improved as a player. He's young so it's not surprising that he improved as well. As for the max deal, every NBA analyst has stated that he's headed for a max deal. We shall see.

I've actually wondered this too. Especially since he lost that weight and lost his ability to back people down. He shot more fade-aways this year than probably his whole prior career combined..

He shot more fadeaways than ever and probably had his worst mid range shooting year ever. His mid range shot is far more effective when he just sets his feet and shoots over his defender. He tried to get fancy all year long and it brought his shooting percentage down.

I'm conflicted about Marc. I'm a big fan of his, but, numbers-wise, not sure he's worth that max money and the impact that has on the team otherwise (getting other needs filled).

We need a shooter. Period. We've tried the grit and grind and tough D route for 5 years. It has not worked.
As much as I would hate it, if the Grizz want to become a favorite when it comes to referee's calls in the playoffs, we need a star. And that star is Melo. It's just like OKC. Small market, BUT they have a star, so they get calls come playoff time. I'm not sure what Melo's deal looks like right now, but he seems to be the one star we could realistically put a trade package together to get. Melo has always been very egotistical, which is why I would hate it, but we need that star..

Yeah, I haven't heard that.
It was mentioned in almost every Grizz-Warriors game.
There have also been several articles over the past few months. A couple of instances below.

Whether he gets a max deal or not remains to be seen.

Yeah we'll see. Like I said, if he gets it and is a premier MAX player on a team they better also have some guards that produce EXACTLY like Curry and Thompson or they'll be the new 76ers.
