In the 2014 Lafayette Baseball Regional, the Cajuns had to play multiple elimination games on Sunday. Actually in every Baseball Regional, one team will have to play multiple elimination games in a day as you can see on last years Regionals schedule on the ESPN link.

The hope is that they play tonight ... else it would be easier for the team that comes out of the loser's bracket. The Cajuns do not want to face Stearns two more times. If Baylor's game is not played tonight ... but tomorrow ... then Stearns could pitch the Sunday evening game vs. Louisiana (assuming Baylor advances) and then throw Monday against Louisiana again. If Baylor gets its game in tonight, they would need to beat the Cajuns twice on Sunday and Stearns would not pitch both games (back-2-back).

I think there is an NCAA rule that says you cant play more than 3 games in a day. I know its a baseball rule...

Mississippi State could end up playing almost 3 1/2 games and Baylor potentially 3 games. Hopefully this is an advantage for the Cajuns.

Definitely an advantage for the Cajuns. But if it is Mississippi State or Weber State that advances to Game 6, an "if necessary" Game 7 would be played Monday. If it is Baylor, then the "if necessary" Game 7 would be Sunday at 8:30pm as noted above.

Devin Brown issued two straight walks loads the bases for Auburn with one out in the second. Then a hit by pitch scores a run. We are bringing in McGill to hopefully get out of the jam without further damage. We will need a good McGill and Beard not throwing illegal pitches if we want to somehow win this regional.
