UAB's June 1 decision on football will quickly tip dominoes in C-USA
http://www.bgdailynews.com/sports/wku/ua...mment-area
Nothing new, except this ridiculous(for UAB) part:
Each school determines its own amount for cost of attendance. WKU's is about $2,800 per year, Stewart said.
By comparison, Stewart said Rice's is about $1,800, while UAB's is about $5,200.
$5200 is ridiculously high. No way that's accurate. Birmingham is one of the cheapest places in the US to live. Its there to serve 2 purposes: 1) inflate the cost of being a UAB student athlete to bolster Watts' case and 2) to prop-up and justify UAT's number(when they release it)...

That number is not made up by the athletic department and is not unique to only student athletes.

Andy Schwarz
@andyhre
@BirminghamsTeam @EBRINDLEY @zach_greenwell COA isn’t money paid to school, it’s cost of transportation, supplies, incidentals, etc.
No way UAB's should be 3 times that of Rice...

Nothing new
Except maybe the tidbit about the Conference basketball tournaments likely returning here next year, should football be reinstated.
La Tech fans have to be overjoyed with that revelation.

Interesting comments about the CUSA Bball tournament. It sounds like if we bring football back, it would be likely we'll also get the conference basketball tournament again.
If Watts loves basketball as much as he says, surely he'll want us hosting the tournament to help our chances of getting to the big dance!

The ultimate goal, before the Watts football fiasco, was to have Birmingham be the permanent site for the CUSA basketball tournament, primarily due to its centralized location. At least, that's what Haase, Ealy, & Co had in mind when they gave their presentation...
