Actually a pretty good landing spot instead of the CBS 10pm slot.

Interesting. The B1G CCG will be in prime time on FOX. ESPN is committed to showing the ACC CCG in prime time on ABC or ESPN, and ESPN holds the rights to the P12 and AAC championships this year. Will ESPN put the P12 CCG head to head with the SEC CCG on CBS, or with the ACC, B1G and MWC CCGs? I'm guessing it will go head to head with the SEC.

The last time ESPN had the Pac-12 title game, two years ago, they aired it on ESPN starting at 7:45 pm ET Saturday night.

Wasn't the Pac-12 CCG on a Friday night last year?

They could have the Pac-12 CCG on Friday night to avoid any conflict.

Figured we'd be on ESPN2. But better timeslot.

CBS OTA wasn't all OTA last year. It was put on the digital sub-channels even in the MW regions.

Sounds like the MW gets double the payout CBS was doing.

"The rights fee ESPN will pay for the championship game is larger than the Mountain West received the past two years, Thompson said. He declined to provide the specific amount. The Mountain West also can sell the title sponsorship to the game, as it did last year with Sports Authority. Proceeds from the title game are split 10 percent to the home team and 5 percent to the visiting team with the rest divided 12 ways."

Good news for the MWC. If that conference could pick up a couple big market Texas programs, that could help its TV market and expand the recruiting pipeline in Texas.

If Conference America loses Cincy and/or UConn the MWC should look to add SMU and Houston. Otherwise, maybe they can look to add North Texas and UTSA.

I dont think that's what it says. It says the MW will get more than they have been getting the last two years (not more than the total of the last 2 years). Its poorly worded, so I get where you are coming from, but if the MW was annually getting double what CBS was paying from ESPN---he would have just said "we are getting double the rights fee".
