C-USA Track & Field Championships - Day 1

C-USA Track & Field Championships - Day 1
After a brief wind/rain storm (in El Paso!!), the Heptathlon and Decathlon are underway. Amanda Pasco is our one entrant in the Hep (her first one). Scott Filip is ranked 1st in the conference and 7th nationally. He leads after the first event (100 meters) with 876 points. Chris Sanders is 8th with 732.

Filip ties for 1st, Sanders T4, in HJ.

Filip leads now by 216. Sanders moves up to 5th, 121 behind 4th place.

UTSA's Newman no-heights, plummeting from 5th to last (10th), 244 points behind the 9th place competitor.

Filip wins his 400 heat by a wide margin, but was 0.11 seconds behind the 1st-heat winner, K'vonte Scott of Charlotte.

Sanders was 10th, 0.42 seconds behind the 9th place runner.

Overall results not yet posted.

Filip is 2 points ahead of his first day results from Mt. Sac.

A very nice day for Filip: 3 firsts, a T1 and solid a 2nd in the individual events.

Sanders is only 68 points behind 5th place (FIU-Sullivan) and is 116 clear of 7th place (FIU-Espitia).
