I Would do the opposite. Charlotte has no soul. Greensboro has character. 04-cheers

Character is so intertaining the day before and the day after a game.

Actually character denotes there being something to do the day before and after. You act like Greensboro is some sleepy little village. It is a major city that is part of a large metropolitan area known as the Triad. Heck I'm sure you can catch a good band, drink some craft beer, play a round of golf, visit an interesting historic site or whatever interests you without any trouble at all. And again, Charlotte is soulless. You could do the same things there but you would feel empty inside. :)

Greensboro is an absolute dump of a town. The only reason people go there is because they have to on the interstate to get east to the triangle or west to Asheville.

That may sound a bit harsher than intended but it is so far down the scale of places to go and things to see in NC. It has virtually no pull for people coming from out of town for a basketball tournament.

My point is that it is a large enough place that it has the things one might look for without much trouble. There are clubs, taverns and restaurants, plays, opera, art, golf, parks, special events etc. personally I think all cities are dumps. Raleigh and Asheville included.

This! Greensboro is just Columbia, SC on a grand scale.

This coming from an alum of Clown College U or was it Circus Major... no it was clown college.

Let me make a distinction for you UNC folk:

FSU has a student group on campus that does acrobatics and other entertainment and performances known as the FSU Circus. It's not actual coursework.

At UNC you literally had a fake major for at least two decades awarding thousands of fake grades and credits to thousands of your fellow students/alumni.

Leave it to a UNC fan to be unable to realize the difference. If you think saying "Clown College" is insulting to me, it just further proves your UNC-bred ignorance.

I will also say that FSU operates the Ringling Museum of Art (yes, the circus Ringling), which is the State Art Museum of Florida. http://www.ringling.org/

They know the difference.

It's the "everybody does it" defense. It's gorilla dust. They know exactly what they're doing.

Everybody doesn't do what UNC-CH did. We all know it, including the UNC-CH fans.

Really dude? Let's just say that sociology degree really comes in handy for Coach K. We owned up to our mistake and it was discovered and turned in by our own investigation at the very beginning of the NCAA investigation. The issue is the unverified crap that is regurgitated by talking heads in the media. The so called whistle blower and her friends that are anti college sports jumped on the opportunity and the media ran with it. Sorta like the BS FSU fans are screaming about with Winston. How the coverage was lopsided and unverified.

I keep hearing these references to the Duke Sociology Department by Carolina fans who are trying to deflect attention away from Roy and Dean's sins. What exactly are the allegations against the Duke Sociology Department? Review the libel laws in your state before responding. I had classmates at Duke who majored in Sociology. They were real college students, unlike the participants in the UNC-CH fraud.

When I was in college, a lot of basketball players majored in History. I majored in History too. All my papers were graded by real professors, as were those of my basketball playing classmates. Nobody had their grades adjusted by a department secretary to meet the basketball coaches' needs.

If anything even approaching what UNC-CH did happened at Duke, K would be gone yesterday. All of his victories would be vacated without question. That's not the "Carolina Way," though.

I prefer my traffic, housing, bars, trap houses, violent acts, lowlifes, thieves, crazies, and generally sketchy people spread out rather than all packed into a concentrated area. If there is anything of interest in the city I can drive there in a hour or less. 04-cheers

Having them packed into a city is not such a bad thing as long as it's not the city you happen to be in...
