Unless it's a genuine medical emergency.

I've had so many negative experiences there but yesterday was just unreal. Boycotting won't be easy for me because they are by a long shot the most convenient pharmacy to my home. But I simply can't go through that anymore.

Anybody have alternate suggestions? Is Walgreen's any better?

I don't know where you're located but Publix pharmacy has always been great for me. I typically go to CVS and haven't had any issues but prior to switching insurance carriers I always went to Publix and never ran into any trouble.

Due to Medicare, I have to use CVS Caremark for some of my medications, and it's been difficult to ensure prompt deliveries at times. I think any business that gets too big becomes an unthinking bureaucracy, which isn't conducive to a worry free life.

So what happened?

You may have some better luck with the locally owned options. I always have.

Medicare gives you no options for specialty medications. Things like MS medications, anti-rejection drugs for transplant patients, etc.

Ordinary medications are no problem. You can get those anywhere. But special meds are another matter.

Neither did I until a couple of months ago. It's a fairly recent change.

Really interested in what happened because our CVS has always been outstanding, dating back to when it was Revco. In fact my Mother and Grandmother both switched from their longtime local pharmacy to CVS when the original owner retired and his son-in-law took it over and it went downhill.

Costco. Wally World. Your local supermarket.

Revco. good grief, when/how long ago was that?

And I'm curious as well. I typically use our Kroger as we get the gaas points and that helps and I'm usually headed there for something anyway.

But when needed we use the CVS right next door and they've always been pretty darn good, knowledgeable and more than wiling to help, discuss stuff etc.

A long time ago, but there are still pharmacists and clerks working for the CVS I use who worked there when it was Revco.

Anyway they took forever to fill a prescription for my 4-year-old, and then when they were finally finished they got it wrong (thankfully Mrs Native is a reg. nurse and caught the mistake right away).

But on top of all that, my car was booted while I was inside the store waiting for the meds. CVS wasn't to blame for that, but I asked the manager to complain to his landlord about the interference with his customers' vehicles (mine wasn't the only one) and he just shrugged like it was none of his concern.
