Watts has basically painted himself into another double lockout - he either doesn't reinstate the programs and turn down > $10 Million in pledges, or he reinstates the programs and forces himself to admit he made a mistake (and/or implicate the trustees). I have a feeling if he reinstates the programs he knows he is gone.

The leadership of a major university won't appear in public to talk about a major decision? That's cowardly.

Here's what happens when he does appear:

"By June 1st" so the announcement could be made anytime after Friday's report is received?

Yes but I don't think he would have mentioned a date if he planned on announcing tomorrow.

Man, here's hoping against hope that they somehow have to reinstate the programs!

Then shove it right up Tuscaloosa's rear!! Separate systems for UAB and UAH from Tuscaloosa!!

Quote:"We will consider the report's findings, along with other important, valuable and mission-critical data, in order to make the best decision for UAB going forward, guided by our vision, mission and strategic plan."

What data? Only the data that supports a pre-determined conclusion like the last time?

Their vision, mission and strategic plan? The one that trustee Ron Gray suggested to Watts more than a year ago and that Watts has echoed since that says UAB should forget football and focus on building a top-10 basketball program?

So even if the report suggests keeping football (as I would guess it could, since one of the consultants' employees is Kristi Dosh who previously blasted UAB for killing football), they'll come up with something that says they will keep it dead. I'm sure they will point to startup costs or other such BS. They are simply saying they have until June 1 to come up with enough excuses as to why this happened. I doubt they revive it.

They've got no more excuses. If football is not reinstated, they'll use the same reasons and excuses they've been using.

The Univ of Alabama system should just move the med school back to tuscaloosa or maybe to huntsville. All the money that has been pumped into UAB by the University of Alabama system (not the Birmingham system) should just go to Tuscaloosa or Huntsville. The University of Alabama system owns the med school not birmingham. Move the med school outa that awful city.

It's like a muscial, but with more signing, and non-stop miscu. Usually sung in Lanti.

Well if it's done in Lanti then let it proclaim "Opsu Die" are at least "Crape Demi"!
