This poll will end around 50%, and reality is probably somewhere close to a coin flip. If it was decided with just the information we have today, I say "No", but heat and money will continue to grow and it MIGHT be possible that the heat becomes too much to bear... for Cubby.

This kind of confirms what I as thinking that our situation looks hopeless to the outside world.

Keep in mine some of us fight similar battles. Our setup of our situation prevents some things from happening.

And Paul Jr is still alive

Rarely have I so badly wanted my prediction to be wrong. I still haven't given up hope on this. But it really boils down to the likelihood/willingness of Ray Watts and his overseers to back down and do the right thing. Whatever the chances of that happening, I have to assume it's somewhat less than 50%.

I think they reinstate with conditions designed to be a poison pill, miss a target on ticket revenue, fund-raising, etc. football is dropped again and the conditions set are used as the justification

I hope UAB reinstates football and is able to stay in CUSA. There isn't a school out there that I'd rather have in CUSA than UAB. Having said that, the announcement that the decision will be made public on June 1 makes the situation look pretty bleak to me. I hope I'm wrong, but I think football is probably finished at UAB.

I thought yes, until I saw the announcement for June 1 will not involve a press conference. To me that doesn't bode well.

Watts will not have a presser for good or bad news There are way too many pointed questions that would be asked about what has happened. He can't answer the questions pubically because he would have to tell the truth due to all the leaked documents.

They may reinstate but I don't believe C-USA should wait for them. With no football in 2015 and likely 2016, I believe they would need to play FCS football a year or so before moving back up to FBS. Even then, they will be very weak. The conference has gone through this to some extent with ODU and certainly Charlotte. We can't afford to do it again. I, for one, would be happy to stay at 13. If the need for 14 exists, then add ULL and move on.

I voted yes. I think it will come back, but UAB will have to start over in the FCS for a couple of years. CUSA will either play with 13 for 4 or 5 years until UAB can compete at the FBS level again,or they're replaced by a western addition that fits West division geography. If they're replaced, they will be added back later, along with a another school to go to 16.

UAB is not going to start over in FCS. That doesn't even make sense. If UAB reinstates football, it will be ready to go in FBS for 2016.

Incorrect. NCAA rules say we'd have to be FCS for two years. There are no listed loopholes in which you can get a waiver.

But is that waiver binding. Everyone thinks that Cusa's rule of not admitting any school without football can be waived.

If Uab does bring football back they'll do it half heartedly where the con's outweigh the pros of bringing it back. That UofA board is a notorious cabal and they don't like to be told what to do.

So here's where we are. UAB brings football back but not in 2015, in 2016 instead and must play FCS for 2 years while everyone else in C-USA plays FBS along with all the goodies like 85 scolly players, payout from the new playoff structure, bowl games, etc. But all the news is not bad. C-USA could be represented in both the Access Bowl game and FCS National Championship with such a structure.

This is why I view this whole mess as trying to push a rock up a hill at this point. That's a whole lot of drama for a conference commissioner and fellow university presidents to contend with.

Watts has farked this one up beyond repair in my humble opinion.

I fully expect Watts to come out on stage in a pimp suit and say "You ******* need to recognize!" while Bear Jr. does the worm on stage in the Alabama mascot uniform.
