Really?

They were the only people in this discussion that I believe added actual football value compared to other posters.

That's just my opinion. There are certainly others that understand football that were not in on this.

I believe from previous posts you are a smart football person, DogPound North is pretty solid as well.

The arrogance of some here makes me laugh.

How is saying 7 and armour understand football arrogant?

The TE concept in NIUs offense has been talked about ad nauseam here in many discussions. If they haven't figured out that by now from five years of this offensive system it questions someone's actually football understanding.

It never created a false importance or a claim that one is smarter than another in general.

Nobody is saying we should have changed our entire offense. It's not like they NEVER used Semisch iin the passing game. We just wondered if his height could have been utilized a little more - especially when you have some pretty short DBs in the MAC. Which hardly suggests a lack of football understanding. I for one don't claim to know that much, but you can't tell about the others just based on speculation on a message board.

Why would any team use a DB to cover Semisch? He can't run.

Okay, LB then. The MAC has small linebackers too. I don't think we have anybody over 6'0 that actually plays, maybe Folliard.

I would have enjoyed watching Hare, somebody who struggled to throw a bubble screen and hit guys running wide open on deep balls, try to throw it to a covered Semsich just because he was tall last season.

I apologize, but I was just trying to keep some conversations going and preventing dead air on this thread. It has given me a good laugh, however.

You think it's easier for Hare to hit the myriad small receivers we have than somebody that's 6'8? I mean some of those throws have to be perfect, especially when throwing to TLL downfield at all. Most of these guys have no wingspan whatsoever. That's why they like big TEs to throw to - they're big targets.

Tommy played 2 games last year...lol.

One of the positives mentioned about Da'Ron when he got drafted was his wingspan and his ability to go up and catch balls. Canada wasn't tiny, either.

It wasn't just last year...lol.

I rarely saw Brown go up and catch a ball, and I've re-watched a lot of games. He had a decent wingspan but he was also a little taller than the other WRs that were playing, other than Brescacin.

We were talking about Hare and you mentioned Tommy. Hare was only the starter last season. Reread what was said.

You mentioned Hare first. Regardless of the QB, it's harder to hit the small guys when you're throwing to them downfield, or if throwing a short pass over a defender.

But Semisch isn't going to get down field before Hare has to throw underneath or tuck it and run. Brown and Brescacin could make plays on balls and could create more separation than Semsich. The dude ran a 5 second 40 at his pro day (http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsp...&genpos=TE) I'm checking out of this discussion because I don't want to come across as negative toward a guy who put years of hard work into Huskie football. Like I said before, I hope he signs with the Dolphins.

yeah this thread is going nowhere. just ppl presenting ideas, and others bashing it lol starting to get aggressive.

but i can tell you this, guys, it is great to see interest/discussion in such an irrelevant topic to huskie football moving forward, shows that we are all true fans and love our huskies.

I think it just shows there's not much to talk about this time of year. Anyway, good luck to Tim, hope it works out with the Dolphins.
