They prefer stable divisions.

Which doesn't jive with the ADs having multiple scheduling alternatives presented to them. There are only so many 8-game, static division options where FSU and Miami are in opposite divisions and their rivalry is maintained.

I doubt it's the permanence they value. I think they want to have
1) a division they can win which only requires beating out 6 other teams, and
2) annual games with certain key rivals

IMO, the solution they came up with is a camel - a horse designed by a committee.

Having dynamic divisions doesn't inherently disqualify #1 and #2 from occurring.
PRECISELY.

RE: Rotating Divisions
What if you did some sort of power based rotating divisions?

Take the top 2 teams from the previous year and reward them with the easier path to the CCG (after the subtraction) and take the next 2 teams and move them to the division opposite of the first 2. Everyone else remains static.

So based off last year's rankings you'd do something like this...

*=Top 4 (Used PF and PA as a tie breaker for Duke and Louisville)

-----2014-----
Atlantic----------Coastal
BC---------------VT
*Clemson---------*GT
*FSU--------------Miami
Louisville--------UVA
NC State--------UNC
Cuse-------------Pitt
WF---------------*Duke

-----2015------
Atlantic----------Coastal
BC---------------VT
NC State--------UNC
Cuse------------Pitt
WF--------------Miami
Louisville-------UVA
GT--------------FSU
Duke-----------Clemson

There are no locked rivals in this idea though. The league can maintain the rivalries however they see fit.

RE: Rotating Divisions
There is no good way to divide the acc into 2 permanent 8 team divisions with an 8 game schedule. i would love to hear the argument against rotating divisons
