#1 makes no sense. Not what you said, but that the ACC chose to do that in the first place. Women's soccer has no divisions while also having more teams than men's soccer.

The coaches of the minor sports choose their formats. The "ACC" didn't decide it for them.

The ACC did agree to it. Whether it was suggested by the coaches or not. It's kind of stupid to have 2 six-team divisions in one soccer and a division less 14 format on the other.

Nope. The ACC announces Syracuse and Pitt and it's some time before division discussions occur. PAC-10 expands and afterward they are considering whether they want a zipper, want all the California schools in one division with the Arizona schools, or want to put the 2 newbies with the southern California and Arizona schools. The SEC expands for Texas A&M without even having a 2nd team settled on and then discusses divisions and ends up putting Missouri in the west. I have yet to see once in this round where divisions were settled beforehand.

Now there might have been some talk beforehand. I know the Big Ten discussed it theoretically when they were at 11 and figured they'd want one of Ohio State and Michigan in each division. That eventually led to Legends and Leaders, but the whole set-up wasn't figured till much later.

Edit: For divisions in general, I dislike them. For any sport that's feasible, I'd remove them. Conference feels more like one conference without the dividing line.

Questions

1 Why with a huge base of Soccer loving Fans, Doesn't Miami have Soccer ? And I would think Atlanta would likewise have fans that would support Soccer as well.

2 If Syracuse gets a New Stadium, Could the Layout support Baseball with a retractable roof and practice facility for Spring Practice ?

They have women's soccer. Why not men's? Money. They don't have men's golf either, or men's swimming, in FLORIDA. No softball either.
